@MCDM killer story!

0330??? You're an animal! I want to be like @MCDM when I grow up!!

Congrats man. Great job! Kestrel? Sitdrag? Other saddle?

Haha lmfao! I was showing my wife your videos this weekend and said the same thing "I want to be like @g2outdoors"!!!! Yeah man i always go in that early. That way I most likely beat bucks back to bed and two even if im late I still have time.

This was from my kestrel as far as saddles go. I am still getting used to the seat though. I feel like its too small but i have put in alot of time in it and love the linemans loops plus the buckles give that added security with no worries. Thanks for the story compliment its crazy the things I have seen so far this year and I really have to buckle down and film but im being a wimp and don't want to lug it all in these temps up north but your motivating me because it looks definitely worse in Georgia with the heat.

I'm just glad mcdm and nature tamer are getting it done early and taking some pressure off the rest of us. Go team 8.

What!!! The pressure is still on to get something bigger for more points you know like a ten or twelve point deer. Plus judging by the turnout this year this will be a very competitive contest. There are alot of great hunters on here and I can see this contest very close.

But Team 8 is putting in work so I hope the rest of my team has the same if not better success when they get out!!! :grinning:

Very cool!

I started filming my hunts this year. It is definitely an adjustment. Getting used to lugging all the equipment plus accounting for setup and tear down time has been a challenge. However, I do really enjoy it. I think it adds to the satisfaction of the hunt.

Oh this GA heat... Where to begin...

I HATE IT!

Team 8 - opening day in PA is Saturday. Here's my target . One buck tag in PA and there's about 1-2 others I might shoot if given the opportunity until late season.

Thats a deer!! I wish you the best teammate. Knock one down!!!

Well SS6 (saddle squad six), I prepped my best spots over the last couple weeks. I have to apologize in advance - I might not get on the board till late season. I timed myself from my door to the base of the tree in my furthest spot - 3 hours on the nose giving myself 20 minutes to get up tree and settled in...about an hour of that is the walk. I won't be doing that until it's below 60 degrees haha I've lost about 10 pounds in the last month running up and down the hills.

The good news is I have several spots with rut bedding where I know the dominant bucks are hanging. And I have a couple I can backdoor and am actually hoping other hunters push in the easy way and run them my way. Rut in this area is usually right around new years - week 2 of January.

I have a Missouri public land trip scheduled the first week of November, but I will be holding out for a hammer though, so I anticipate not pulling the trigger (unless I get an easy drag on a doe).

Please turn on the AC!!!!

Tomorrow begins bow season here in TX! I hope to see a blood trail that ends at a pile of tasty roasts and back strap in the morning! Best of luck to everyone this weekend (or even today of your season is open!)

It was a good start to the season. I could hear the deer moving before Sun up but nothing come daylight. Then this evening I had a coon, a hog and 4 bucks. 2 were small, 1 was a solid 8 and 1 was a huge 9! Only the coon was in range but I see the trail they are using!

Who got the first doe from the Kestrel ? Who got the first buck from the Kestrel?

Got to my stand at 6am. Deer were already there and ran off blowing. 10am decided to get down. Looked up and here he comes. 3 seconds later he's running full speed across the swamp and jumps the creek with a big hole in him! Things can sure change in an instant. Went home, waited an hour and me and my dogs went for a tracking job. This was Snoopys first time and he was amazing. All the training paid off. I had more fun working with my dogs than I did hunting !

Good job Chuck. Tracking dogs will spoil you. The last lease I was on one of the guys lived across the road and had a beagle he was training. We let him track about every deer for practice. Now I'm on my knees spitting on leaves and rubbing it to see if that's blood or just a red spot on a leaf.

I was amazed watching Snoopy. He would lose the trail and go back to last blood and regroup. Never gave up. Can't wait to shoot another one just to watch him !
