WOW...that's some incredible work!!! I really like where you're headed with this design.I'm not sure what the guys are working on for their platform, but after noodling around for a bit, watching video's of how guys move around the tree, but yet not using a saddle or platform yet myself, this is an idea I came up with. It would need tweaking I am sure, FEA would tell where its not strong enough, due to standing out on an edge, etc... It would need a leveling screw, maybe more teeth, ect... I liked the idea of the angled portions for when you are off to a side, you have something to wedge yourself against. Its all together possible that the other designs (old LW seat, etc) are simpler, and maybe work better. Anyways, I just thought I'd spend an couple of lunch hours playing around. tube and casting came in at .7lb for aluminum. no hardware, main center ribs are .125 wide, outer ribs are .25, and a couple of heavy xsec. where some of the ribs meet.
