Best steps ever made for us saddlehunters

Better to be skeptical than taken advantage of. It is just human nature to second guess nowadays.

Talk about an unexpected investment right there.... gold mine is right!!!

Investment, no kidding! I told Josh I felt like it was kind of my responsibility to touch base with him to see what was going on (especially given my line of work and my obvious posts questioning the validity of his post). He was naturally and understandably offended when I called him. But after a few minutes everything was good and we had a very long conversation about hunting, fishing and everything in between. He sounds like a standup guy.

Good thing I’m out of spending money for a few months, or I would have had to make him a little richer!

I seen his add on Craigslist on Saturday and spent most of the weekend chatting with Joshua, one of the nicest guys I’ve had an out of the blue conversation with.

I found a box of 70 a couple years ago on Craigslist and I thought that was a lot. This is way more.

That’s great. I think the main thing that had people worried was how hard he was trying to sell them without a price and being new to the forum. He could have sold them as easy just by saying what he had and how much he wanted for them.

This may have been covered before, but here goes.....
Why doesn't Ameristep still make these? Is it because of liability due to the recall?

Basically because they aren't very good at what they were supposed to do. There are much better climbing methods out there. They only gained popularity when people started using them as a platform. And I just don't think there are enough platforms out there for someone to justify the cost of a new mold.

In my industry, we don't even think of molding something unless you can sell 10000 pieces. I just don't think the demand is there yet.

Our style of hunting is growing and we have more people every day, but injection molds are expensive and you have to convince someone that the investment is worth it.

Volume lowers fixed cost per unit of production. Simply production management.

I’m curious to know what you’re letting them go for myself. I have a set that I wasn’t planning on selling but the way you pitched yours I might could be persuaded. LoL

SG843,

Sorry for such a late reply and hopefully you haven't offloaded your steps yet.

If you have a handful, or a set ,everyone's # is different then I would keep them for your lifetime, and then still pass them on to kids, grandkids ,ECT.

Wouldn't even sell em for 50.00 a step if I only had a hand full.

My excess I have been letting go for 25/step and having no issues and should I ....well no worries right that's the deer gods saying to keep em. Lol

My thing is that I had acquired hundreds of these steps in the first few years they were ever made.

I only did this cause the very first time I saw these on the shelf at Wal-Mart or Meijers I knew these were going to be perfect for how I hunt.

I wanted lightweight, portable, quiet, and a fast setup to get off the ground with being able to hunt any tree regardless of terrain or cover.

Keep your steps.

Thanks,

Josh

Purchased 6 steps from Josh last week, quick response/shipping, received my package Saturday perfect timing with great weather to practice with them here in NC... Josh was very pleasant to deal with and great guy to talk to. Started the week off texting about buying/selling steps which lead to a week long string of text swapping hunting stories, tips, tricks and tactics! Great to deal with and talk to someone passionate about hunting/the outdoors/saddle hunting. If you're looking for ameristeps I recommend you contact Josh to place your order while they last....! Thank you Josh for your quick responses and shipping and for stock piling those steps years ago....
