See that?

First sit in Illinois = broken platform. The Muddy tree bracket broke when I cammed over the platform. Good thing I'm used to hunting off the tops of my sticks.

I have a backup xop platform, but my brother is using it. I also brought Ameristeps and Stepp Ladders. I think I'm good lol.

So it was the bracket that broke? Looks like it's more of a V bracket? I use the XOP 6 point bracket and that thing is super solid. I actually expect my XOP platform to break before the brackets... lol
 
That usually when something decides to fail when you hundreds of miles away from home. Good luck...looks like a nice spot.

smart move. you end up frustrated when you just jump in to a tree right away.
The quality of the hunts not the quantity is what matters.
