Live from the tree 2017 version

Planned on going out this evening for a couple of hours after work on some private land I hunt. Was checking out a new spot and stepped in a yellow jackets nest while stepping over a log in some thick stuff. Needless to say, over 20 stings later from head down to shins, my night was called short. Probably scared away everything in the woods doing yellow jacket Kung fu anyway!

Man I hate to hear that. Such a helpless feeling. Hope you aren't allergic.

I'm good. Puffy and still stinging, but not allergic. Been stung tons of times... but never fun.

Glad your ok. I feel loved me I have a hangover after being stung once I would probably be at the ER with that many. Spent two hours one morning trying to retrieve my climber, rifle, and pack away from a tree that had a yellow jacket nest at the bottom of it.

I'm with you... after the first several, I separated myself only to remember that I had to go back for my stuff. Ended up getting stung more at that point. Definitely not cool.

Thanks for sharing this. It was a little bit of a wake up call. I am allergic, especially to yellow jackets and I have been a little lax on carrying my epi pen with me. One of them is going in my hunting pack when I get home. Last time I was stung in the woods it was only 4 stings and I got a rescue squad ride to the hospital. 20 stings without an epipen and I am not sure I would be here anymore.

It is only funny because you are ok and not seriously hurt. My little brain has conjured up these ment images of a guy in the woods doing the "don't sting me" dance while running like his hair is on fire! I would have been doing the same think and trying to figure out how to get even once the dance was over. (Never go after them with a stick... You will always loose and usually walk away after you hit yourself!)

You are so right. My shin was bleeding so I must have kicked something. My leaf suit has been covered in permethrin which apparently doesn't keep yellow jackets away. The worst is when I raised my hood only to find that I trapped one inside. Two stings on my scalp, one on my temple and two behind my ear. Only to be matched by the sound of buzzing at close quarters.

I was in the woods for only 10 minutes, and with the 84 degree temps we have been having, you would have thought I had run a marathon due to all the sweat from jumping around.

@Gr33n Arrow this exact thing happen to me last year. i stepped on a log then it was a jet li movie. I was stung 8 times in the head, a few times in the neck and some other areas. I got back to the truck filled with adrenaline and pain. I was able to drive myself home but was dizzy for the rest of the day. Worst pain ever was like being shot or something.

It's a beautiful morning. Jumped 5 or 6 on my way in. Not as warm as I expected and a nice little breeze. I'm all alone back here and I just feel at peace right now .

Bummer. I could be getting called in any minute today. I'm just enjoying the time I have

Shot a doe out at 34 yds this morning about 6:35am. Also saw 4 small bucks that i passed on. The arrow from the doe had green brownish matter which im shocked cause i swear it was a good shot when i saw it hit. Found some blood but and think i might have bumped her 15 minutes ago. Need to wait this one out.

Good luck my friend. Sounds a lot like gut. You may as well go to Waffle House and have some coffee and relax for a while.

Been busted like 6 times already. Wind keeps switching.

I did have a buck grunting his head off at about 30-40 yds but never could see what he was. Probably a young fella.
