Get your cpl guys, problem solved.
By cpl you must mean concealed permit?? If so I have it but we are still not allowed to carry. However I can carry a shotgun to shoot yotes but can't bring one when bowhunting for deer. Can hunt yotes half an hour afrer sunset and can night hunt coons with a light (just not from a vehicle) but have to stop hunting for deer at sunset. Laws which make no sense lol

Explosive arrow heads. Yup. That's aboot what we use for bear in Canada, eh.
Thank you
Sorry

Contact your congressman and get the law changed. Michigan had the same law and changed it because its your right to protect yourself at all times. Of course I believe it only applies to concealed as Im pretty sure open carry cannot be done while bow hunting even though open carry is legal in our state. Silly law really, my bow has double the effective range of my carry gun.

HAHAHAHA. This is NJ my friend.

Have you applied Red? Keep trying till they issue you one. Don't matter if you actually carry or not, its the principle of it. Plus if you ever want to hunt with a pistol, you need a concealed permit to carry it in a pack or concealed out of the weather.

Just read about your state Red, you need to move.

With all due respect kenn I live in CT the state is leading the country right now in gun control or I should say gun removal. Our laws say the carry wether concealed or open is prohibited. It is a very liberal state definitely not where I want to live anymore. High taxes and infringed rights but that is a whole other conversation.

I hear ya, crazy times. Guess Im uneducated in that I thought open carry was a right under the constitution. You have the right to bear arms, that doesn't mean only in your home.

I am allowed to carry concealed even though my state is technically classfied as an open carry, but open carry is a hassle because people have called the police. They then go through the ordeal and stop you and if the complaintant actually talks to the police and felt threatened the police can charge you with a breach of peace charge. It is a hassle and I understand that it is not illegal but its the way it is. There are loop holes in all the laws and each state is different. Believe me when I say gun laws only are for responsible gun owners and some laws restrict and can hurt us. Criminals don't care so as crime continues the level of restrictions for the responsible ones will continue to oppress and infringe upon us. Sorry for the rant lol

Exactly. I'm sure me and @MCDM are in similar spots. I'm not joking when I say I'm pretty sure it's illegal to carry bear spray even though we've had 2 people killed by bears in the past 2 years. The way I read the law it can't be more than 3-4 ounces ( can't remember exactly right now) which is the small canister that women typically would carry. Next time you order something from cabelas (or should I say bass pro) look at the limitations to the states in the north east. It's crazy and sad. I can sympathize with wanting to stop crazy people from killing innocent people but the laws they have come up with and the limitations imposed are idiotic.

Yes, but because of these laws Trenton is such a safe place, Atlantic city two blocks off the board walk is a great place for kids...

Yea, don't forget Camden and Newark! If we didn't have so much family here we'd be out of here. Not to mention it ain't cheap to live here..

NJ 0.75 ounces max. When I hunt in NJ, I don't even know what 0.75 oz would do. In PA, I am strapping a 10mm Glock. What a difference the Delaware river makes.

If we did not have family in CT i could convince my wife to move. Low paying jobs in comparison to how much it cost to live. Damn if I did not hunt I either be eating chicken or rabbit food to survive. I really keep telling her we would be better off elsewhere but family is important so we stay. We don't even have a bear season however as I told a wildlife officer if I encounter a bear and its not backing down I hope its got a broadhead proof vest on cause that sucker ain't gonna win that battle. When its off season and Im scouting I carry my 9mm which before anyone says anything I know it doesn't pack the punch but with my preban 20 round mag I will empty that thing so fast lol.

My wife was all gotta be close to family for a long time. We moved back to Mi because of it. We have kids in school and wife likes the school/area. Her family moved up north and what was left of mine locally moved to florida, others are up north. So were not close to family and she is fine with it now. I want to move to Iowa, she aint having anything to do with that idea. lol She wants to move south were its warmer.

I was looking at off the grid alaska lol but the wife said hell no. She likes her iphone lol. I was looking at the midwest buy a good chunk of land and possibly start a guide service premier whitetail stuff. Then I would just move the whole family out there and we all live in the same compound. I am a dreamer I guess:grinning:

I'm a big ruler follower, but with the the amount of bears and bear problems we have, if i were to carry bear spray and get in trouble, that is something I could live with.

I have a very hard time following dumb rules. And by "hard time following" I mean I completely ignore them. I'd rather get a ticket than obey a law some suit in an office chair wrote that limits the freedoms our brothers and sisters have died for.

There are too many politicians and lawyers in this country.
