The lightest multi-step aider ever conceived?

Thanks, I’m like 90 percent sure that’s what I’m doing and it slips out? I’ll try messing with it some more later.

On the daisy chain he is going in and out 3 times unlike a Brummell loop where you go in and out twice then bury. I never tried it. Just what I think I’m seeing in the video.

So I did find out in order for it to not slip out you have to burry a piece or rope in the leg loops and that’s what stops it from pulling out. At least that’s the only way I could figure it out.

Didn’t the guy in the video use his to secure his sticks? I can’t see it slipping in that application. I was planning to make one soon. You got me worried now.

If you guys have any questions you can give me a call, just send me a pm, I'll try to walk you through it. They didn't slip, but you can't get the sticks super tight every time, so I'll probably be going with a cam lock.

I knew it was a member here just couldn’t remember who. I was just thinking of making an amsteel daisy chain to be used as a back up lineman belt but mainly for a gear hanger.

KYHunter, any chance you could explain your locked brummel? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but my “locked brummels” are not locked they slip out. Not the ones on the bottom continuous loop where the ends are buried but the ones in the middle. The foot loop strand that’s longer wants to pull even with the “center” strand. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I’m new to amsteel and I just can’t figure it out from you tubing.

Hey man I’m just seeing this sorry for the late reply. I think you may be threading them the wrong direction, if that makes sense? I had that issue at first too. Just try to imagine that at each locked brummel that the “loop” is going up towards the step and so that way it will support the weight pressing down from your foot

I ended up going back and using some bow string material to kind of “serve-in” the splices behind the split. I think it allows a little less play in the material when using it.

It looks like the daisy chain method may work as well.

Any close ups of this?

No worries, thanks for the update. It stayed once I buried some rope in the foot loops and I have messed with it since. Unfortunately as much as I like the idea, I still find the black diamond and metolius aiders to be a lot easier for me and I’ll just have to carry a little more bulk for now.

Good deal, it is always cool to see what works well for other peope and what doesnt work. best of luck

Glad to see you guys experimenting with these aiders! So far I am very happy with mine after converting them to three step. I’ve lock stitched everything and so far they are solid.

I actually made my single loop, carry up as you go, from 7/64 amsteel after your post. so far it's the bomb with 3 sticks for me and this thing packs down to size of deck of cards.

That’s an awesome idea Dave. Is it hard on the feet being so small? I’d say most hunting boots it wouldn’t be an issue
