Don't do that.
Check out my video in my signature about my platform. I go over the whoopie sling.
I agree, I started with a ratchet initially. Just converted to a whoopi and won't go back to anything else.

Pm sentErniepower, I am interested in a kit also.
I'll shoot a video tomorrow showing how I get mine setup. Hopefully that will help you get the hang of yours.I think I am going to sale my xop kit. It is completely finished with xop seat and 2 claws on back of it. I can't seem to get the hang of it. Plus I already have an assassin platform and it works for me. How about $145.00 shipped to buyer. It will come out of the box ready to use
That's no good. Admittedly getting the rope properly adjusted is the trickiest part. The rope shouldn't slip though if tension is on it. Especially since a good portion of the sliding part would be on the tree providing even more friction. That would be great. I only had two sits to use mine before season ended here, and I must have done something wrong with the way I used the rope. Had creep in the rope that over time led to the top of the stick coming loose and the platform moving left to right.
Haven't had time to look into it and figure it out because I had to leave for Xmas, so a video would be just on time to cater to my laziness

I had a few minutes to play around with my platform for the first time yesterday. I didn't get it to work before I had to call it quits. I was also having the rope slip, it was slipping as I tried to cam the platform over, even when I put pressure on it to keep it tight. I was thinking about converting it to a whoopie sling. I ran out of time to keep working with it and its not the top project on my list. That's no good. Admittedly getting the rope properly adjusted is the trickiest part. Did it creep both times you were out? Has anyone else noticed this same creep?

Well perhaps we rethink this. A whoopie sling may indeed hold better. But it will require you to reset the attachment on that side every time you adjust the rope. I have provided plenty of extra rope in case you want to remove the sliding part of the ucr and feed the tail into a whoopie.
The other option may be to put the adjustable part of the whoopie sling through around the frame of the seat. Then you would only have to wrap and attach the other end once.
A final option, and would be to remove the sliding part and just use a stepp knot. I have no problem changing these kits up to make it easier for people.
I wouldn't be able to feed the whoopie sling through the frame before splicing for you, but anything else I can do, let me know.
