So between this and the DRT thread, I’m really intrigued with these types of options instead of sticks. Being cheap and in good shape, is it unreasonable to think you could safely climb a single rope setup with just a friction hitch to your bridge? My thought is it’d be like rope climbs in gym class- feet clasping the rope and pulling up by hand, but with safety from the (tended) friction hitch.
Yes, friction hitches are very light and quiet. As long as you have a method to get back down I think it works great. I usually use mad Rock safeguard belay device and a friction hitch with a foot loop above that to SRT. Of course I've only done that in my backyard I haven't tried it in a hunting situation yet. I do it like the third method in her video.
