Finally got back to Michigan after a side trip to FLA.
Had a great time at SaddlePalooza. I met hunters from at least 9 states and everyone that I met was super cool.
The good stuff:
My first time hunting pigs and I had a blast.
Watching guys like Carl and Squirrels demonstrate their technique/setup in person to get ideas on how I can improve my game.
Getting hands and butts and feet on some new products and some DIY ingenuity.
Campfire stories.
The bad stuff:
I did not bring home any bacon.
The mud.
The food. I figured by walking all day chasing pigs I could walk off some "holiday" lbs. But the food was so good I think I actually gained weight.
To anyone on the fence about going next year I would say go. I went this year not knowing anybody and knowing nothing about pig hunting and I really enjoyed myself. I will be going back next year. This is a very welcoming, friendly group that goes out of their way to make sure everyone has what they need to enjoy camp. Lot's of sharing and helping hands. Saddle hunters are good people.
Special thanks to
@T.Clarke for sending along some extra guns that I was able to put to use. No worries, Tim. The barrels are just as clean as they were when you dropped them off.
