Aero hunter Merlin

No Not complaining about marketing at all. I believe in free enterprise but just because a product is marketed well doesn’t mean it’s the best product, that was my point. Some people buy the best marketed or most available or most popular saddle. I want to know who has the most comfort and a well built saddle.
Marketing has grown the saddle market resulting in more choices which is good
The Merlin is a new tribes product. Marketing may not be a strength of New tribes but the saddles are very high quality and reasonably comfortable and they stand behind what they make.

Agreed
Can’t beat hand made
Yes you wait
But the end result is a product that next to never has issues and are immediately resolved

Back to the other poster elk yinzer

Yes the overmarketing of some is highly annoying
It can go either way

Yikes. Y’all complaining about being marketed to by the very companies that make your passion and hobby a reality. Maybe we should just go back to the good old days of guessing a product even exists at all and hoping someone makes it and will release it eventually? I mean that was so much better than the constant stream of new saddle hunting products, companies, and targeted advertising.

Nothing negative about the saddle companies or their offerings. Naturally people have different tolerances for marketing and commercials, but that goes for any product advertisement. For some saddle makers marketing is important part of their business model. I mean there is a reason advertising is expensive, and it’s because it works on many levels.

The social media marketing is a whole other level of mind control imo. It is effective because it is disguised as community and sharing, and it’s exacerbated by the fact that people are caught up in their phones and online status.

It’s always in our faces which can be good yes
....then again sometimes feels like they have to tell us how good their products are ecause they fear we would never find out on our own

That’s the power of persuasion though. If the average consumer sees something enough, they believe it. Once the consumer is invested they tend to parrot the same marketing message that persuaded them. All of a sudden you have a vocal fan base.

Same thing hunting shows have done for years. Kill a deer wearing real tree camo. Product placements all throughout the “hunt”. Prominently spraying some magical deer juice. Advertising.

Now with YouTube you have what is perceived as everyday joes hunting public land pimping product in a more subtle manner. It’s all very relatable and very effective.

By no means do I mean any of this negatively towards any one company. I think all these saddle guys are passionate about what they do. In terms of their business, It’s just basic marketing and it achieves brand recognition. YouTube and other social media makes it much more effective in terms of target audience

Some guys get all wound up over new releases on saddle gear. I guess with age you become more patient. Relax it will come.

Some will believe it after seeing it enough
I agree
Some aren’t as gullible though
To each their own
I see what you’re saying though

i cant find one thread out of place on my kestrel. Its comfy like im floating on the air in the tree... aerohunter spends their time and money on building a great product. You have to have good marketing at least on your web design to look "official" but i agree it can be a little much on the social media with all the game changer bs. I sell Erie insurance now. Big company with a good product but they stay out of the commercials and annoying marketing. Relying more on word of mouth. They do fine. Some people like that more. Whatever floats your boat... that being said i bought into the tethrd hype...twice. Lol. For me they were both mediocre. Aerohunter is on another level IMO.

Of course I’m not referring to refined saddle users such as ourselves.

Yes. And then something newer comes out and the earlier stuff gets sold off and suddenly you hear they they really felt about the product.

The problem with this is you haven’t just been lying to yourself, but you’ve been lying to folks doing the research to purchase their first saddle. They come to places like this, IG, YT, etc. and they see all the hype so buy the product. Then they get the product and it doesn’t come close to their expectations and they think it’s just them and won’t mention it and suffer or worse yet, they decide this method of hunting sucks and never come back.

I will agree aerohunter has probably the best overall quality but the cryptic Facebook posts are mind numbing.

You’re young, it will grow back

If anyone knows how deep the panel is top to bottom when fully expanded, then please post it.

doc snipped the end off mine when i was young... and it never grew back

Sorry to hear that if you live in Michigan,Illinois, or Colorado there are a few shops that will help you forget that it’s not growing back

I'm probably wrong but, it looks like the saddle designs are migrating toward more square inches. The flex, the method, the ESS, and now this... trophy line has never strayed from the flagship design (moreless), which is a generous amount of coverage.
Maybe these minimal designs aren't so comfortable after all, at least for bigger framed hunters.
Thoughts???

Maybe hunters are getting fatter...need more trunk space.

For a few ounces the hammocks and dish shaped (H2). are more comfortable.
Never tried a trophy line but guys used to say the old ones were super comfortable

And of course the homemade fleece saddles
