Look, I hate to be a Debbie Downer but you ain't going to get that glow to go away. Using UV Killer per the directions had no tangible effect that I've seen under the UV light they sell.

I did some additional testing with UV Killer but haven't posted the latest results because they ain't pretty. Honestly, I was just going to let the UV conversation die because @PEEJAY is right... nobody is going to buy a garment with the UV cooties on it.

All is not lost fellas remember Timberpimp camo!!! But if it doesn't glow in UV it may not be a corncobs to corncobs comparison. IDK, sometimes I think we all worry too much. I know I can easily get caught up into some of this.

I don’t have the time to hunt that I used to, if a deer busts my UV it could be two-ten years before I get another chance!

Just watched the video. That's sweet. Yeah that wasn't what happened when I put the stuff on fabric. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Well my orders placed so guess I get to do my own cheap experiment as well. If my ASAT looks neon I’ll just try harder to peek around from behind a bigger tree. A fella does wish the First Light whitetail geniuses would give this some thought for what were paying. That is, unless this whole issue is imaginary. The truth is hard to know.

Keep us posted with results. I'm wondering if all DWR treatment has UV brighteners in it. Hoping my Sitka gear doesn't.

Guys I am not clear on how effectively deer can see UV. Is there something credible on this that I can read and look at?

I use a variety of camo including First Lite. I have gotten picked before in both FL and other camo. When I get picked I feel it is because I have moved or drawn attention to myself - but I am not in the mind of a deer (or at least not yet). I have also sat right in front of deer in FL camo and been totally undetected. Last week in fact I was sitting on the ground (no blind) and a Cow Moose and her calf walked past me at 20 yards (I had only the bull tag) in FL camo and they had no awareness of me. Now moose I believe have poor eyesight, but I couldn't imaging a better test than this.

To me, if you are getting picked it is because you are moving.

If you want to get in the mind of a deer... eat exactly 4.20 grams of psilocybin mushies (i prefer p. ovoideocystidiata) and take a walk through your favorite hunting area. Preferably public with lots of other hunters in the trees so you get a good freak out. Colors stand out and survival instincts kick in perfectly! o_O

I ordered some UV Killer yesterday. We’ll see what happens. I emailed First Lite, got the same guy I chatted with. Apparently they don’t think it’s a big deal. Normally I don’t wear camo. I wear brown brush pants and a wool button down. This is the only camo I have and it’s because I can’t find any cold weather gear that is quiet, doesn’t stink, durable, and warm. Wool stinks and it’s a pain to care for, regular winter jackets either don’t breathe or are loud, and fleece isn’t wind proof. Hopefully I get even satisfactory results from the UV Killer.

Fleece most certainly can be bought that is windproof.

In 2018 I bought a First Lite Woodbury jacket and Sanctuary bibs. The last season and a half has been rough and I've been getting busted more than I ever have since I started hunting in 2002. I was reading the other day about deer's ability to see UV light. I never considered it to be an issue because I use exclusively Seventh Generation detergent year round for all my clothes. I was messing around in the basement last night and I pulled out my UV light for fly tying and the damn thing glows like a Christmas tree. I went to First Lite's chat on the website and they said the DWR finish will reflect UV light, but they don't add brighteners. My bibs don't glow. Here's a side by side comparison between the bibs (rear) and jacket getting the same amount of UV light. Has anyone else found this to be an issue? Is there any way to remedy it? I've washed it maybe a dozen a more times in Seventh Generation over the last two years. I'm pretty pissed. View attachment 36320

Gives new meaning to "First Lite Flash Sale"

Honestly, thanks for posting this. I've purchased some gear second hand without checking UV.

Do you know of any warm coats like that? I’ve had the Cabela’s Berber fleece and it was very bulky, then I bought the Cabela’s Wooltimate jacket and that wasn’t bad with layers under it. I’d prefer nothing camo so I can wear it around town and not look out of place lol.

Not sure about non-camo. Never looked for that but there may be something from one of the clothing companies that make gear for climbers that fits the bill. Thought we were talking about hunting clothes. I have a light jacket from Columbia that is water and wind resistant that has a light fleece lining. It is not wind proof but does a good job of cutting wind a lot. There are lots of golf pullovers that are wind blocking and water resistant that could be paired with a light fleece vest or jacket.
