Anyone know what animal this jaw bone would be from?

There were a couple of pvc pipes stuck or ran in the ground on the top of a ridge. Wondering if it’s some type of surveying thing that the National Forest folks use or if it was left over from loggers or something? Anyone know?

A Moultrie Cell camera that I smiled and waved too. It was 30 yards from corn on a logging road so it wouldn’t be a stretch to think the person that put the camera out also put the corn out. The folks on private that buts up to this forest land treat and hunt the forest land like it’s their own. Cameras, ladderstands, baiting, the works. Always trying to ruin it for the rest of us.

A buddy found a human skull on my friend's farm.
He found it in early October. They called the police to report it and several law enforcement bureaus set upon that farm with everything from agents, to dogs, to quads, and helicopters to investigate. Basically trashed the property for the rest of bow season.
The victim had some sort of breakdown. He walked out into the woods the previous winter, took off all his clothes, and froze to death.

"Found" a 4 to 4.5 feet deep by 3 feet across perfectly cylindrical hole on public land while scouting last spring. I was walking through some golden rod and the world opened up under me. Thankfully, I fell really well. Both feet went in together so it didn't wreck my knees or hips and I landed flat footed with both feet so I didn't hurt my ankles. I was stuck with the ground up to my armpits and had to climb out and then reach back in to get some things that fell out of my pockets. I cut around it and then piled up some sticks around it to try to mark it for others, marked it on OnX for myself, and emailed DNR. I went back in the fall and it was still there.

I hope there aren't any deeper holes there, someone could get trapped.

On the same piece, I was hunting there in mid-November during a cold front (it was around freezing or below). I was 1/2 mile from any road or dwelling. A guy walks 15 yards by my tree by himself, looking totally out of it/high/drunk, and all he is wearing is a pair of jeans and a dirty, white, short sleeved t-shirt and his hair was greasy from no hygiene. I heard him and thought I was going to see a deer. I sat quietly in my camo and he didn't even look up, thankfully.

For decades I felt the deer woods was the safest place I'd ever take myself into and never was armed unless hunting
Then people changed that for me.
Now I carry my high-cap 45 and at least 2 spare 13 round mags without exception.
Sad really.
