New Gear release 2021

XOP will have a new platform dropping this fall. I am new to all this and need some gear before I fell like most of this stuff will come out so I'll need to pull the trigger on something. However, I guess like most I will end up trying a lot of different stuff out anyways so does it really matter? LOL

These guys have more typos than a monkey on a typewriter
Haha that’s a great way to describe it.

That being said, if this thing was priced appropriately ($75-100), I'd give it a shot for a season. Considering I got a brand new Badlands Superday for $140, this isn't getting a second thought.

Man that’s what I am saying as well. That is an insane price point for this pack.

Might as well wait until all of their paid customers (field testers...) find all the bugs.

Hmmm. Badlands Superday retails for $250-280. Naturally, getting a deal on an otherwise expensive pack means this pack should retail $75-100.

And honestly who cares that much about spelling if sh** works, another employee will only make the gear more expensive.

I don’t think this LWCG pack necessarily suits my needs, but its well thought out for what it is. Though, I agree, it ain’t cheap.

This company is quickly shrinking its customer market.

I'll play ball. Let's call the badlands 250 bucks. That still makes the LWCG pack grossly overpriced, considering:
-LWCG's time in the pack game (0 days and counting)
-LWCG's quality at launch (broken saddle platform posts, bent versa buttons, sharp edges on everything, rubberized coating that flopped after year 1)
- And a combination of the two above.. if these jokers have been in the stand game for decades and manage to screw things up that bad, am I going to spend 300 to see if they can run a sewing machine on the first go-round?

NOPE

Not asking for a dedicated employee to spell check. Asking for functioning adults that know the difference between "there" and "their", considering the manufacture safety-critical gear.

Anywho, back to 2021 releases...

We can call the Badlands $250, because that’s what it is. I cannot comment on the LWCG pack’s quality, durability, usefulness. Maybe it will be a turd.

Just saying it’s not as grossly overpriced in the specialized pack market, comparatively, as is being made out.

Will I pay $300 for one. No.

‘they’

Just saying, we all make them, it’s no big deal most of the time.

I agree gear is much more interesting than spelling and grammar anyway; that was your bit.

I think his point was similar to brown M&Ms

To be sure, I am the one who first raised the issue of copyediting and @MIbowhunter49 just happened to agree with me. I get that we all make errors and for some that may not be too interesting. My issue is this: If I am paying a premium for premium products then I expect the product and marketing to be buttoned up. For me, that includes the description of the item. If they take shortcuts there, where else may they be taking them? If they are in such a rush to get something to market that they do not even know what MOLLE means (instead using "Molly"), it concerns me. Although that is not a life or death issue on a backpack, it is one elsewhere, and even with the pack it ends up being a good amount of money. I want to be clear, they are not the only folks in this business making these types of errors so it isn't all about them. But, when I take this and all the other shenanigans then for me it does become about them and why I am a bit skittish of their products.

I don’t think so. They’re letting XOP cover the other market, and there is competition at this price point (and higher) for every item listed.

i have to respectfully disagree.
I get it but I disagree so please no offense.
I have the lwcg 1.0 and love it. Im sure it will last a long long time.
Worth every penny.
Its like sitka or first lite or couple other clothing line. its big money but will last.
Well if we wanna compare i guess we can say the beast is getting even worse with a $625 knock off lw deer stand.
Or how about Tethered with their $140 dollar a piece stick and big money platforms and saddles.
This is just the trend. Everyone seems to need themost expensive new equipment every year to become an expert or tester or pro staff.
I do love my beast sticks but I even seen the beast has gotten a bit greedy raising sticks to $99 a piece.
Now i believe when those sticks came out few years back people cringed at $80 a stick.
people are buying them up still like candy.
so the demand goes up so the price goes up.
its common buisness tactics. Is it wrong? Yup
It is getting just greedy and stupid with the companies but, i will say.
We all get sucked into these influencers and eventually the products they dangle that claim to be the best on the market, will bring you that much closer to killing a huge public land buck.
its all marketing my friends. Jab jab punch ploys. Research that.
These companies or groups are out for one thing and had one thing in mind when they started. Money.
Which is fine its business.
It starts with gathering a following then its about a cash grab on products they come out with.
I myself am guilty of being a sucker too.
In my honest opinion these big influencers that sell these products are really for a different kind of hunter. With that being said its a class of hunter who actually puts 100’s of hours on stand.
This light weight high priced equipment is very good equipment and is worth the money for the xtreme hunter. not for the weekend warrior.
i would never refer these products to a weekend warrior or a hunter who only has time to hunt few times a week.
Nothing wrong with cheaper versions of sticks and stands for the non xtreme hunters.
just my 2 cents im sure someone wont like or maybe will agree. Just my honest opinion

He did a bit more than agree, but this isn‘t productive and maybe doesn’t belong in a new gear release thread. We can start a Lone Wolf Custom Gear pricing and professionalism thread for that.

I am with you. My thought was in the context of a new release that had not been edited before placement on the website. I agree the rest belongs elsewhere.

In that context, I think we’ve seen companies announce products and later make changes to the actual product before launch, which is often better than launching a product and having to make changes afterwards.

Many here know of the guilty parties. I have no problem with that coming to light either. I don’t see Molly vs MOLLE as a major factor in pricing a bag. Unless they really mean Molly.

Fair enough, I am a details guy and think that MOLLE is an acronym for "Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment" whereas Molly is a diminutive of the Hebrew feminine name Mary. If a company is marketing a new backpack does not understand that difference (or cares so little for the intelligence of their customers they deliberately or negligently neglect to care), it simply bothers me. It may not bother everyone, and of course that is perfectly fine with me, too.

You have a bad habit of only reading the portion you want to be combative about.

Let me repeat, without the "you were right about the MSRP (nice job using google)" portion. Im sorry for adding the complication of the deal I once got. It seems to have really distracted you.
