Some of these new stands aren't much heavier than the larger platforms. Some people are using a hybrid setup with a LWCG .5 and a saddle or a hang on and RCH. There are advantages and disadvantages to every setup you just have to figure up what you can live with. Personally, a saddle/platform setup isn't comfortable for more than a couple of hours to me. So the cost vs performance ratio is high for me. I get that others have their setups dialed in and can sit all day, but I haven't found that level of comfort. I'm not trying to buy a bunch of different saddles to try either. With a stand, if my ass gets sore I just stand up for a few minutes. I'm leaning more and more towards picking up a RCH and using that with my XOP Vanish. Yes it's heavier, but with good straps and a waist belt the weight is negligible. Days that i'm feeling lazy i'll just sit on the ground.

From the Hunting Beast. Lol. This is a "Beast Stand Sold Out!" thread. Dan posted that more should be available in a week or two; I just wanted to make anyone who was hoping to get one aware of that. I guess I didn't word my post too well, sorry to get hopes up of new stands to hit the market...maybe they'll drop in a week or two as well. :) If I hear anything, I'll post in the New Gear release 2021 thread...but I'm no industry insider...like others seem to be.

I'm active in the New Gear thread often enough. Stumbling across Dan's post was a total fluke, but I thought some might want that info so I posted here. I don't think you're the only one who thought I was talking about other stands, I was laughing in general when I read what I wrote. Definitely could be taken differently than I intended.

Good to get the gear rumor mill going, though, and maybe speed up some of the new releases.

I’d like to see some reviews myself. The specs are close to perfect. I had the DS .5 and sent it back because of the super sharp edges. I may get another, when they start smoothing the edges out. I loved the idea, but it is small. For me, they would have knocked it out of the park, if the specs were a little different.

I would not even be looking at anything else, if the .5 were a .75. The width is just fine as is, but if the length were 25-26” and the seat post were 20”, that would have been awesome.

Looking forward to hearing some y’all’s thoughts on the Beast Stand.

I spent a couple hours with a dremel tool on mine, definitely sucked but otherwise I like it, we will see, after some reviews the beast stand mite be on my radar also

How tall are you? I’d still prefer a couple more inches over the beast’s 29” but I’m 6’2”. Don’t mind the narrow platform but I hate the short platforms.

I bought one used, and did the same (sold it). I heard that someone heard LWCG is tumbling or otherwise doing what they should have been doing all along, and have removed the sharp edges from current product. I've yet to see this confirmed.

Otherwise I liked the .5 and might pick up another. Definitely not a fan of the twist on the seat post. A square tube is inarguably stronger per ounce, but allegedly louder. Id rather have a square post with stealth strip. Oh well.

Im 5’10”, 11“ boot. The .5 is doable, just not comfortable for me. I’ve hunted out of an assault for so long, that the 25-26”l platform is fine, just like a more narrow stand. Take a 1.0 and make it 3” narrower...perfect.

Maybe Novix is working on an assault .75 and come in at 8-8.5#, at $250 range. Probably wishful thinking. Lol

For the saddle hunter, looking for a hybrid duty stand, the .5 is hard to beat. It hangs as easy as a small platform.
