I brought my kids to SC to hunt with my dad. He just got a call from the cardiologist saying to go to the ER immediately. My mom just left to take him. Not totally sure what’s going on.

I watched 3 bucks run a doe around the marsh across the street from my office window today. That makes concentration on the job a little rough. No hunting allowed there.

Thanks so much for your prayers. Dad was admitted to the hospital last night with an extremely low platelet count apparently caused from high doses of blood thinners. We aren’t able to visit but last night he said he was in a room and resting comfortably. The kids and I are going to try and sneak in a morning hunt while we wait for further details. Thanks again and congratulations to you guys who got deer recently!!

Day 2 of deer camp 2021. Yesterday I saw a half rack and 5 does in the morning, nothing in the evening.

My brother kills a nice 9/10 point first evening. My dad who tagged out back home last week found a ton of hot buck sign edge of a swamp and put him on it. I'm constantly reminded I don't scout enough inseason. Going to do that this afternoon and just spend last hour or two in a tree.

Sitting a good cruising spot this morning in a bowl where a laurel edge and funnel through rocks converge. No deer yet.

Update. I went to see my dad today. His platelet count is up but won’t stay up. The doctors can’t figure out why. They started him on a drug that is supposed to “kick start” his platelet production but has a lot of side effects. He really bummed right now that he can’t be home with us and that he can’t take his grandkids hunting. He had lymphoma several years ago but the doctors assured him it hasn’t come back.
 
Do you have any idea how hard it is to load a deer into the back of a Nissan Rogue all by your self. At least the drag out wasn’t bad.
