Hey guys, I just posted my platform on classified if anyone is interested.
It’s new and never been on a tree, I think the platform is a great platform I just have too much stuff so I’m thinning out some gear.
Yeah I’m not worried about the flex or it breaking as stated in my post , I just have too much stuff and I have $1300 in hunting tags coming up…:flushed:

1. That's a great buck in your profile, congrats. Truly.
2. Thank you for an honest unboxing and review.

Yep. I’m glad you admitted it. It’s the first step to recovery. FWIW, I’m 235-240.

Mine didn’t flex like that. I guess me and two other guys got the only good ones out.

Under your pretenses of defining who’s right, there’d not be one thing for consumers to buy if applied the way you insinuate. From bread to platforms. I don’t know what saddlehunters would do without you.

Could you take a picture or video of yours under weight then? It’s hard for me to believe that tiny strut isn’t bending for you as well after seeing the videos of them bending? I’m 205 lb though so if it isn’t bending for you then I’d have confidence it wouldn’t bend under my weight. Thanks.

I appreciate the feedback from someone who actually has the platform, unlike @Plebe who seems to just be making assumptions with no hands on experience.

anyone have an honest weight on these yet (bare, no straps)? on one page of their website it says 16 oz and on another 22 oz.....in this case 6 oz is a big percent of total weight and it's a minimalist platform designed to be light, so that 6 oz matters to me
Just put mine on a postal scale fresh from the box.
15.9 ounces no strap
22.4 ounces with supplied strap and buckle

other first thoughts are theres a little give if I grab the edges and squeeze but it's not much. everything else seems to be just what I expected. Hopefully it will be on a tree tomorrow morning and I'll have more thoughts then

Thank you. And your Welcome.

I really wanted to like this platform too.

What parts of WV you from? I'm in Bridgeport.
I also would like to see pics of your platform with weight on the corners and not bending. It seems like the Prototypes are stronger than the first runs.

Is yours from the first batch or the 2nd batch, the sticker on mine shows Lot#2 07/22

thanks, they should be more clear in their specs and let people know that the 22 oz weight is with strap (unless i missed that)....they are hurting their own business

What I don’t get is it’s plastic. This is not where you reduce thickness to save weight. I think a 1 LB platform identical to the one they have now that doesn’t deform would be the way to go.

if folks would make platforms (like the new latitude) out of something like a tempered 7075, do you think we would start seeing even more weight savings (since i think that stuff is even more diesel that 6061-t6)?

It was plastic. Now it's plastic+.

I haven't been very critical of Pursuit and don't wish to be. I like small business startups who innovate. Honestly, the Pursuit Platform would have been my choice for the New Product Launch Showcase ATA award had they participated. I think it's largely the most novel idea I've seen this year. How successful it will be, I can't say.

However, if my feet were held to the fire to levy censure, a possible fault is that the field testing was done with platforms made of a different material than the marketed product. It was plastic, and now it's plastic +.

in their defense, fiberglass reinforced nylon is tough stuff...simply calling it plastic seems a bit harsh

that stuff bends but i think to snap it would take some serious work and probably a tool or two!
