Pursuit platforms

Just talked with Pursuit via FB messenger and this is what was said! Amazing communication with them and I hope this gets fixed! View attachment 69233

Glad you will be taken care of and thank you for posting. Some of us just knew that was not normal or safe despite others trying to convince us otherwise or to justify their purchase.

Update:

Here is what I got. I can’t take pics of this thing while I’m on it because I don’t have anyone to take them. And, my weekend plan changed. So there will be no one here to do it. But, I did do a video by propping the camera on a 5 gallon bucket.

It felt as solid as it did the day before. But, on video, i was kinda amazed at the flexing compared to what it feels like. It flexes quite a bit. I couldn’t tell the difference in feel on either side. And, fooled around and only recorded the more shallow angle.

But, flex it does when you get out on the edge on the balls of your feet. I’m guessing a 1/2”. When you rock back and forth it exaggerated it sone as you get both sides going. It doesn’t feel unsafe nor is it going to keep me from using it. I was just surprised because it doesn’t look like it’s flexing that much when looking down on it doing the drill.

It’s the cross bar frame on the edges. The underside frame on both edges, on both sides, bend down. My returned with zero sign of stress or weakening by color and to its original form.

Anyways, if flexing on those underside frame beams bothers you then definitely don’t buy it. If you are ok with it, then this will be a good lightweight option.

It tickled my interest though. I’m now wandering how much my diy platforms flex with the plywood. It doesn’t matter I reckon as they have proven safe to me. But, my guess is after watching my video, they are bending down quite a bit when I’m on the edges stretching out. More then I realized likely based on todays experiment.

it’s important to understand I’m not trying to justify my purchase. I could care less if anyone buys or doesn’t buy this. I’m really pleased with it for what it is. And, I’m smart enough to know the platform won’t hurt me even if it failed. I’ll be hooked to the tree from ground to ground. Just like with everything else I use.

I ll post pics of the side beams after doing this to so no discolorization. But, I got no way of posting through a video browser. Hopefully, my description paints a good enough pic.

Here’s the pics.

How's this thing with extreme rotation (counter clockwise for a rightie) to shoot your 3 o clock area? Got enough area to be stable in that position?
I tried the spin around movement this morning, and once you are spun around with your tether over your shoulder it's plenty of room to be stable but it wasn't exactly roomy for spinning and the sloped surface didn't add to my comfort with the maneuver. I haven't used a dedicated platform before, just W.E. steps, so my opinion on the functionality of spinning 270 degrees isn't all that informed, but it's not something I feel like I could pull off with a deer inside of 50 yards. Moving around the tree on a couple of extra squirrel steps would be the way I think I will approach weak side shots with this platform.

that sounds like a recall coming. i would be shttin bricks if that was happening to a product i just sent out to a thousand hunters about to hang in a tree.

I would be more concerned with that flex/bend in zero degree temps. Might straight up snap...

Just got home from work and mine was on the porch waiting for me...

It's a 'LOT 1' and it doesn't flex very much at all but I only weigh a buck fifty-five.
I already had a strap with 3 Ameristeps and an OCB sitting around so I put it on a tree out back and hung-out for a little while.

I like it already.

Is there a way to tell which lot based on order number?

These product issues are buggin me, partly because I can only imagine the stress it is for the folks designing and selling the stuff. But the more videos I watch of this platform it sure looks like plain and simple it needs a little more meat in the design.

That said, at 170lbs I’m considering giving em an order because it checks a lotta boxes otherwise.

The strap is only rated for 333 lbs so a 400 lb rating is useless the way I see it.
This platform is a miss for me. Had my interest, but it’s too mushy under my feet. Back it goes I hope they pay for shipping back.

This thing is definitely the most comfortable platform I have stood on.
That’s BECAUSE OF the squishyness in it.
It’s like standing on tennis shoes while wearing tennis shoes...
There are some things I don’t like about it though and I can type about that stuff later but right now up in this tree my poor ol’ beat up feet are happy!

Wait a minute! How is someone with the handle phatkaw only 155lbs? … do you have a 300lb uncle who goes by slim???

Glad to hear the platform’s going to work out for you. I just received mine and have to get it on a tree to see if it’s going to suit my purposes or have too much flex.

Was told since it’s personal preference I have to pay to return it. I was being polite. I find it sketchy and do not trust it. This is 2’ off the ground Never mind at hunting height

No repeat business here in the future.

While I understand your frustration with that policy, I also see why they would have that policy. Shipping platforms for people to try and decide it's not for them based on preference is a bad business model and I'm unaware of any other manufacturer who would do that. I vaguely recall people having platforms break and the manufacturers dragging their feet about returning/replacing them because there wasn't proof that it wasn't "abused" but that's a different topic. If your platform didn't break or deform I would say it's reasonable for them to expect you to return it on your dime or rehome it if it's not for you.

I find it hard to believe it didn't bend where mine did. I don't see these holding up until they reinforce that section. However, i'd say for the $100 you got in it, someone on here would buy it.. I'm going to wait to get the new one they are sending me and try it and probably sell it.
