New Gear for 2023, Go!

What makes them strange to you? I thought they were kind of cool and thought they were thinking about things from a different angle.
All the stuff @raisins said. Plus there’s already other similar looking broad heads and he seemed to think it was a new design. The all aluminum part is new though, and no way will it hold an edge as good as steel.

That guy seems to have a lot of problems. Every video is him fixing all the problems with everything. Not sure how anything ever works with all these problems.
With that, I would like to see the LWCG heads in action

lol....good point....an aluminum head fixes no problem i've ever heard of anyone having

for instance, the QAD Exodus heads I had in my quiver all year (and even took in and out) will still shave my arm and have no rust on them...the only care is I don't store the ones I'm using in anything sealed (so moisture doesn't collect) and if they get wet then i remove from the quiver and wipe down/spray with air compressor and then set aside to fully dry and to let the quiver foam dry out also

The problem is easy to see it's all profit margins. Selling machined gear that lasts a lifetime at premium price point isn't the most sustainable business model in the long run. Once their initial flush of customers hops on board, party is over. Need a profit mix with more consumables. Aluminum is a curious choice for a broadhead from my limited knowledge of metalurgy but I give him credit for trying something outside the box.

Lots of fans of hardened steels, which will rust if not coated.

What's that aluminum going to do should it find a decent bone? Curl right up I'd imagine. Maybe it's for turkey?

I do them credit for trying it. Maybe it works?

Yes they will. Lot of good coatings.

i'd just wipe them down with CLP, etc...if they smell my broadhead they deserve to live

I'm just saying it is a problem. It's a complaint that has been voiced on this forum often enough. Sure, there are ways it's dealt with.

Stainless has attributes that make it attractive for broadhead production and use. As well, it's inferior in some respects to other broadhead metals.

I don't know if these LWCG solve all the mentioned problems or any, especially when thrust into a comparison against the entire field of broadheads that individually have different strengths and weaknesses.

But, I do think the problems mentioned exist, that is all.

I’ve never gotten rust on my exodus heads. My quiver is open air in the hood not the foam type. Maybe that makes a difference I don’t know.

I have never had my solids rust either. Only Iron wills

I think that is the part that is getting overlooked. Something that everyone has been wanting. I don’t necessarily want a climbing stand, I just don’t like dealing with sticks and I’m not into rope climbing. At 5lbs it would be lighter than my sticks and I could climb as high as I want. Interested to see the price point.
I pm'd xop. They said the seat would be around $250 and it's actually a climbing platform.

You're right, I hastily read the wrong edge. My mistake, sorry y'all. View attachment 79737
@Horn, @Weldabeast is trying to get you to realize that your numerator is in eights and your denominator is in sixteenths. 7/16 is slightly less than 2.5, you're showing us 2 7/8 (or 2 14/16), not 2 7/16 to the bottom edge. No digital tape measure needed just a (double) hasty mistake. All good. Now as to whether this debate matters... I'll step aside.
