New Gear for 2023, Go!

You run a .5, right?

What's your plan with the K4 then?
Yes sir, .5. Trust me I looked on maybe running the k4 frame with the .5 but I have the Kuiu frame on it now. Couldn’t imagine spending another 375$ on that thing.
Buttt I do have dreams of hunting out west, pack style hunts. I also camp and I really like a frame pack for camping. Camping more like backcountry camping not 30’ camper haha

Don't go to the support thread for help.
Just go ahead and hit the add to cart button.
That stinking salesmen they have is a genius. Instead of blowing smoke up peoples butts he just simple says the cool stuff about the pack. Doesn’t even seem like he’s trying to sell anything. It’s like he knows it’s that good and it will sell itself ha

K4 will be great for that (Western hunting/camping).

But with the .5, it's probably going to work best lashing the stand directly to the K4 frame and attaching a small bag to the stand. I haven't seen the crib yet...which could be easily designed to manage a .5 correctly and a whitetail hunting sized MOLLE bag. I don't think that's their focus though.

Seek Outside and (although folks don't use it this way) Kifaru frames have lots of loops which offer incredible packing versatility with ladder lock webbing straps.

I gave my Kuiu frame to my brother. I liked it too. Just the Kifaru was a bit better across the board, amongst different gear sets, for me. Seek and MR Popup (w/ Seek belt) are my favorites with the .5 thus far.

Because he’s right.

Kinda noisy to me. But maybe its just the video didn't do them justice.
Sorry, I was being funny.
Way too noisy, way too heavy, don't pack as well as the LWCG compact sticks or the OOAL Shikar sticks. Like some other new sticks, not aider friendly.
Look at the video on the attachment method for more noise.

I do not venture into the Rokslide dumpster fire. Ever.
I’ve just been fortunate enough to be testing the K4 and it is amazing. Again, not the best for saddle hunting. But for everything else, it’s a home run.

I didn't mean it as a strike against the K4, Steve, his team, or Rokslide. Just noting they are making the rounds over there.

Steve actually clarified the frame weights for me which was helpful.

I think the K4 system could be a great option for saddle hunting. It's not optimized for how I'd prefer it, though.

However, I understand they can only make so many models of bags, and they have numerous competing preferences to design against. There is a bit of "how this can..." when preferences go against the final designs. That's partly helpful, partly salesmanship, but at least there's dialogue.

I'm not active on Rokslide, but I've followed the K4 threads closely.

I'm interested in seeing where the 2200 lands. Then I'll know.

Yes. Good to see some innovation. Like was mentioned, fiddle factor seems high. This video didn’t show how they attach to a tree. I already own nicer options.

What other sites do you visit? Do they also have updates on new products for the year?

Thanks for sharing. That is an interesting design. Unfortunately kind of forces the user into a cam buckle, which is a step backwards, IMO, from Amsteel daisy chains. Good concept and innovation though.

$350 for a 3 pack of sticks that weighs 7.5lbs that you need to assemble at the tree…. Doesn’t seem very innovative to me…
