    I had some original Jim Steps made by Jim himself, I hated using them as a ladder and sold them. I regret that now as I think they would be a pretty good platform. I'm 280lbs or was at the time and they did move a bit. I'm absolutely positive these are Chinese knockoffs and won't be as good...

    Try a few turns of good ol black electrical tape. Fairly durable, easy to keep an extra roll in your pack for a quick touch up.
