    Best backpacks for saddle hunting?

I don't find myself needing to draw a sidearm very often in the deer woods lol. But I've shot a deer while carrying sticks and bow on the way to the tree. I just put the sticks between my legs. It's no different than carrying a bugle tube around the mountains. And I don't know how yall put on...

    Sticks for Big Dudes

OOAL just came out with big man sticks. 2 pounds each I think. I don't think they are for sale yet but they should be soon.

    Best backpacks for saddle hunting?

Why are so many people strapping their sticks to their pack instead of just carrying them in their hand? That means you have to take your pack off when you get to the tree and unhook them before you can start climbing. Am I missing something?

    Aiders

If you've never used aiders (especially cable aiders) be sure to practice a lot. I got some last year and I was super wobbly at first. It takes some time to figure out how to get your foot locked to the tree. I actually like to use the inside edge of my foot now instead of my toe. Also, they...

    Tethrd Carbon Fiber Platform

I'm assuming there is aluminum reinforcement of some kind where it connects to the post. The connecting bolt would load the fibers in the wrong direction otherwise and it wouldn't even be worth testing. We'll see.

Who Wants Nothing To Do With One Sticking?

I can't find a reason to try it. I carry 5.5 pounds worth of sticks in my hand on the way in that get me 18 feet high (never needed to be higher). I've never once said "man I wish I only had one of these sticks in my hand" just so I could dangle off the tree on my way up.

"The official saddle hunting backpack thread"

10 year old badlands Diablo works great. I've got an exo pack but this is better for saddle hunting. I don't put my bibs and jacket until I'm on my platform. When I get to the tree I don't take my backpack off. Sticks are in my hand so I'm ready to climb. Bibs go on the bottom of the pack...

    The UP Platform vs. Predator

Maybe I'm out of the loop. What's the up platform?

Stealth Strip - Is it really necessary

That stuff is more useful than I ever imagined. I put it on stuff all the time.

    Phantom cost used?

I bought a used phantom, both ropes, and two sys haulers for $300 a couple months ago. Looks brand new.

    Predator XL or predator

I've got size 13's. No experience with the regular predator but I like my xl. I dont think I'd be able to comfortably stand with my back to the tree if it was smaller.

Beast sticks changes 2019 to now

Can someone post a picture of the back of the standoffs on the new ones?

    Hawk ROS

I hate my old hawk sticks but I want one of those foldable steps for a bow holder. Exactly what I've been looking for. Has anyone actually bought these? Even their website doesn't work. I can't find anything saying if/when they're available?

Shikar FXD with cable aiders (pics)

I haven't had any issues with the standoffs with a size 13 boot. Cable aiders took some getting used to. First aider I've ever used. But they are super easy to set your foot into when coming down since they are semi rigid. The top step on my top stick was 17'. I'm 6'4 and I don't think I...

Shikar FXD with cable aiders (pics)

I went ahead and painted and stealth stripped them. I don't worry too much about camo for deer purposes since that really doesn't matter, but they're way quieter and if I wanna leave my setup and go eat lunch I won't have to worry about people seeing them from a mile away. I didn't disassemble...

    Stick Length Recommendation

I'm 6'4 and use 20" step spacing but 22" would be nice. Not sure how sewn aiders would compare to my cable aiders but I've learned it's easy to get your foot stuck if you space the sticks out too far lol.

Shikar FXD with cable aiders (pics)

I agree. I stopped by a couple weeks ago and he showed me around. He's got some cool stuff in the works too.

Shikar FXD with cable aiders (pics)

I think I've got one of the first sets with the new cable aider attachments from OOAL. They are awesome. I didnt think I'd like side stacking but it's actually better and easier than the in-line stacking once you put the aiders on. They still stack in line just fine with the bolts, but the...

    Climbing sticks

This guy just did a review of pretty much every stick on the market. Good video.
