    Sterling is showing this as proper use of the carabiner. It is part of their emergency evacuation kit with the F4 descender; so it may not necessarily mean that it's made for this use daily, but perhaps for a single use emergency situation...     I actually have been playing with a 3/4” stick build this year and now have ordered Dan O’s double steps that he is now carrying for 3/4. Pic below is my stick I’ve been experimenting with next to a Hawk. I have been able to use a cam cleat on it as well
