    Let's Talk Tactics

My tactic is more helpful to other hunters. Its never my intention to be such a generous and selfless guy but I essentially bump (every) deer on public to all other hunters. Every once in a while a dumb one tries to over think it and sneak out right by me and I get a shot. So if youre looking...

Suggestions on first bow for 3-4 year old

Im getting a bow built for my daughter and my sister in law wanted to get one for her son. She didnt want to spend quite as much as me getting it custom made by a bowyer (I also have a son thats 8 months so I expect it to be a hand me down between them and their other cousins). Anyways...

    Snake Gaiter Suggestions

Think I may shoot the middle here then. I have thicker rubber boots for hunting so I guess those will be good enough. Just wearing tennis shoes doesnt really ease my mind. Given the statistics above and seeing as you guys from the areas that should be concerned about it are not I think the...

    Snake Gaiter Suggestions

Ill be heading to texas soon and going to help a buddy down there start scouting and was going to purchase a set of snake gaiters. Couple questions 1) Any suggestions on gaiters? Ones you liked or didnt and reasons why. Im worried the ole you get what you pay for even though im trying to cheap...

    Throwing knives

Ended up going with some gil hibbons. Got 3 sets of 3 for myself my uncle and nephew. Figure if anyone takes to it they can make a more invested purchase. A lot of throwing knives are out of stock. Is this similar to ammo as in its bought up in a pandemic freakout?

    Wood arrow spine

I was also thinking of going to wood arrows next year. currently i shoot aluminums and my total arrow weight is ~670gr...my arrow drops like a rock out of a 45# bow. i figured wood would be an easier material for me to learn on as it can be cheaper to screw up and pitch. also like the idea of...

    2020-2021 Trad Kill Pics

Didnt pose for a great pic or anything as I hurried up and drug this button buck back to my seat to sit the rest of the evening because he dropped right in the scrape I was setup on. First kill with a recurve! Luckily he was small enough to hog tie the legs and carry out like a purse, had just...

you got any links for that? video or thread?

    Knaider Swaider "Buttons"

With the Knaider/Swaider combo you would definitely lose some height being stuck on your knaider setting your next connection point. Even using a third long Swaider you would get blocked setting your connection point and being on your Knaider, which would also have your extended Swaider. Youd...

    Knaider Swaider "Buttons"

I currently use knaider/swaider with WE Steps. Instead of using an entire step just to pass it with the knaider swaider, has anyone thought of making a smaller connection for the knaider swaider only? Ive also seen that some are using an extended swaider (not sure of the actual name of it) at...

    My personal Game changer

Im always a few steps behind. I did a heavy trek with my kestrel, I always wear in, and after a few miles felt like a bag lady but instead of a shopping cart I hooked it all to my belt (molle). I always thought the innovations were cool to watch, but figured stock was good enough for me compared...

    New one here

Ive heard if you can hit a paper plate youre good. I think a plate is a little big given theres no such thing as plate fever, but if your groups (with a broadhead) are consistently tight and you can get a deer within that range youre good to go. dont compare yourself to someone else.

How and why did you choose Traditional Archery?

Wish my story was more romantic but I didnt recover a deer with my compound and really dug into form, arrow setup, broadheads all that jazz. Was talking with a guy at my archery club and he was really helping me get everything dialed in and was just a really nice guy offering his advice. Noticed...

    Help

First year with recurve so take it for what it's worth, I've practiced from the saddle and hunted (haven't shot on a deer yet) and there is no downside to sitting in a saddle with trad gear versus compound other than potentially limited shot range. I actually felt like my release arm is setup...

    Using the broadhead as

Saw the other post on adding the sight. I have a 2 blade single bevel and put bright finger nail polish on the backside for aiming and low light. Almost looks like a single vertical pin and actually lines up real well was far as aiming point. Trad ish I guess, works for me. Sent from my...

    Arrow recommendations for #40 recurve

I second the "close as possible" goal. This is my second year shooting my recurve, first year taking it seriously and when I tuned my arrows I got to a point that showed equal weak to strong meaning it wasn't the arrows anymore it was me screwing up my form, release, whatever. Put some small...
