    Lone Wolf Hand Climber cracked

Mine broke in the same manner, (center of the outermost member, being used in the same manner. I have no quarrel with LW for that. I don't think anyone does either, it seems folks are very thankful for LW's response to their situation :)

    Saddle and squirrels: an observation

I've noticed that while in the saddle and waiting on deer, if a squirrel spots me and becomes spooked, that gently swaying (swinging from the tether) seems to calm him down very quickly. In almost 40 years of hunting from stands it seems to me that once a squirrel (or a few) get wigged out over...

Anyone ever get setup and just not feel comfortable (safe) at height?

Yup. Sometimes hunting a steep hill side, “high enough“ on one side of the perch has made the view of the other side, especially all the way to the valley bottom, downright frightening. And I’ve been hunting from serious heights for almost 40 years. I usually get down, lol!

Packing in gear and clothes during a hang an bang

Well, when I'd get about 100-200 yards from whatever stand, I would stop, cool down to a pre-shiver, and then put on my warm clothes. I'm not much of a scent-prevention gear guy. These days I just do my best with the wind. Sure I get busted sometimes, the wind swirls so much... but I almost...

Packing in gear and clothes during a hang an bang

Yup, just pack your warm clothes in. I lived in NY for 57 years (these last 2 in KY). Because the prevailing wind is SW, I had to do a looong climb up the side of a valley to get up to the woods that I had permission to hunt. No joke, it was so strenuous, that it took 40 minutes to get up the...
