New Weekend hunting vehicle - all Trucks way too Much $$$$

I have a tarp in my trunk year round for just that. That way I can't forget it.

New Weekend hunting vehicle - all Trucks way too Much $$$$

I've even tried chains. It gets to the point in Idaho, in the mountains, on forest service roads, in the snow, that you just need 4 wheel drive. Not saying I couldn't live without, there would just be some spots i couldn't hunt. I have a suburban though, so it i just switch to it in October.

New Weekend hunting vehicle - all Trucks way too Much $$$$

Same, I drive my accord till the snow starts, then I have to use the gas guzzling suburban. Some of the roads in my area are too steep for the accord in snow.

    ***ALERT** Always89

It doesn't matter who made it, if it was DIY, etc. We should all be going over all our equipment regularly for any sorts of issues developing. This is safety gear after all.

    Public Land trail cams

My advice is move to Idaho. We have so much public land per hunter nobody probably even sees them. Never had one messed with, only ever saw a person on one once. They were picking huckleberries. (I hope I didn't jinx myself)

    Climbing in THEIR Park

I'm not sure what a borough is, but there is no way I would have gone to the office, and had you not shown everyone would have likely forgotten all about it. Unless the police showed up and ticketed me I would have ignored them.

    Mossberg 500 Video

I could see that east of the Mississippi maybe, but you would be fairly limited deer and elk hunting out here with a slug gun. I'm tired and being argumentative.

What gun do you hunt with?

If you were talking about a open sight lever action 30/30 maybe I'd encourage you. No reason to move on from a good 30/06 though. It will work just fine on anything in the country. Use it till you give it to your kid I say.

    Poll - Rangefinders

Unlike most of you I always have out of bow range areas with clear shots. I spend the first 30 min or so in any stand ranging and memorizing different ranges. I always have the rangefinder with me.

    Poll - Rangefinders

I'm the same, I range live sometimes with rifle, never with bow. Even with rifle it is rare, as it has to be WAY out there before it matters. Of its under 300 yards I don't bother.

    Fishing Tips

This is a good segue into my saying read your state's regulations carefully. The above works great but may not be legal. Using minnows may or may not be legal, using sunfish may or may not be legal, etc. It all varies by state.

    Lasered !!!

Yeah, I keep waiting for some well televised FBI raids and domestic terrorism charges. I'm afraid that's what it's gonna take to impress it apon the idiots that think it's no big deal. Idiots can learn. All you have to do is look how fast Ariana Grande's nude pictures disappeared as soon as her...

    Scouting from horseback.

I never even hunted on a horse I could trust not to bit or kick me. I wasn't about to try that. Besides shooting off hand off a living breathing creature the animal would have to be pretty close. I just used the horse to get me to where I was hunting then parked it.

    Scouting from horseback.

That's pretty much true. There is lots of movement involved in bailing off the back of a horse and getting ready for a shot through.

    Scouting from horseback.

I like hunting on horseback (except when they bit or kick me) but I have no desire to feed and care for one all year just to hunt from it for a week. It pretty much has to be a year round passion for hunting by horse to make any sense, or renting, but then you never really know what your getting...

How to convince your town to allow bow hunting in city limits?

Seems like it would be a nightmare. I can't imagine having to walk up to someone's door in a neighborhood and ask permission to collect the deer that just bled out in their backyard. I mean deer run after you arrow them. Maybe being a westerner I'm just not understanding what you mean by city...

    Why your user name?

My first online poker account on party poker was lackingaces. When I signed up for twoplustwo (poker forum) I didn't know if I was going to have to type my name each time so I shortened it to lacky. I played poker full time for 9 years and part time for more, and am known as lacky by lots of...

    Hunting Bike?

They probably help in sand, but loose gravel and cattle guards you would be fine in 2" wide mountain bike tires. I imagine your fat tires will help lots in mud too. Again, we mostly have rocky and course sand type roads here, so they don't change much when wet. We do get snow, but I expect both...
