    Peepless sight options

Fellow cross eye dominate shooter here, theres a few approaches that are usually used. The most obvious is to start shooting lefty early in your archery/gun shooting career because then its more natural. There have been several people who have switched successfully. The other way is to continue...

    Peepless sight options

Also probably the draw for the guys that run a kisser and nose button without a peep. Its all positioning and consistency. Just using a kisser button can lead to rushed shots nose to high or low on the string and youre going to shoot high or low, string left or right on nose and your impacts...

    Peepless sight options

Any site will work, the key is anchor consistency. I personally only use a kisser however I see the draw for the nose button Ive just never tried one.

    Knaider/Swaider with Beast Sticks?

Works pretty well, when I decided to give one sticking a go after using WE stepps for a season I decided to continue using my knaider/swaider to get additional height between moves. Swaider to bottom step and I'd make sure the carabiner was close to the stick then knaider to middle of bottom...

    Go pro mounting

What clamp do you use to mount your camera to your tether?

    Tree Tether

Another vote for alpine butterfly then I attach it to my linemans loop as a back up if something were to happen with my bridge or prussic.

    Splicing Oplux

Tested great but dang that's a long bury lol almost 2 ft... how was that to bury? Also for removing the inner core, was it only removed from the tapered portion or the full length? I'm also a bit curious on the brummel splice with the double braid core spliced into not sure if rescue tech or oplux.

    Splicing Oplux

Please read this thread in its entirety but particularly page 2. We came to the conclusion that while it is "possible" to splice, we found that modified splices were needed and only then was oplux/canyon lux able to retain 75% of its breaking strength. Splicing is preferred in the marine world...

    Mystery Ranch packs

I picked up the 38 at the beginning of November. Bags a little bigger than I needed but I didn't like the way the 28 opened up and didn't have a side zipper. It caries very well, packing 3L of water, predator platform 20" EWO stick, pocket arm, camera and extra clothing layers.

Rope retrieval after rappel- prussic problem

There's a couple ways of doing this with an atc/figure 8 and an autoblock. Ill describe my setup first though its more moving parts than what you're looking for. At hunting height I'm hanging from my tether on a prussic, when its time to come down I pull out my rappel line with delta link put it...

    Hello from Michigan

Welcome from SC! though I'm a West Michigan native, in fact I was just up there for a few days enjoying the not so beautiful weather for rifle opener. Saddle hunting has come a long way in the last couple of years and I'm sure you'll find a saddle and climbing method that work best for you. Good...

I would really like to see a "hunt any tree" challenge video.

One of the many things that drew me to saddle hunting was not being limited to a straight tree with no branches like my climber. I too had fallen for the "my method can get me up any tree" mentality, I primarily hunt with WE steps using a K/S but this year have been toying with the 1 stick...

    1 sticker question...

I use a quicklink on my rappel line 40 ft of oplux tied with a scaffold knot. It is a bit annoying screwing/unscrewing and a bit noisy when doing it quickly. Still better than potentially crossloading a carabiner

    Question for Wildedge Step owners.

I use them on pines but it is tricky. Usually takes 2 attempts to get it camed over and tight. But it was all trial and error last season to get to a point where I could get them on a pine tree without them popping up while hunting or sagging when I put weight on them. Add in rain on a soft bark...

    Grunt Call Success Rates?

As others have said, I've had mixed results with blind calling and/or working a buck in. I hunt public only and have had success with the techniques in both Michigan and South Carolina. Its not always enough to seal the deal but I've had bucks come in looking or pass through out of range then...

    It's official...I'm a civilian weenie.

Its not official until you grow the mandatory beard. 7 left for me and its going sooo much slower than the first 10. I've heard getting smoked on 16oz curls helps :tearsofjoy:

    Knaider/swaider for single sticking?

When I started playing around with one sticking after last season I had seen a few videos of guys using a continuous loop to hook the knaider into. I decided to give it a try to get the most movement out of one stick per move. I didn't care for the loop as it added fiddle factor for me and I...

    One sticking

Still need to do a sponge cammo pattern but I'm happy with my DIY EWO stick. Running it with 7/64 amsteel daisy chain, the amsteel does like to grab bark and makes the fiddle factor going up increase as I don't detach the rope once its set. Going to toy around with 1/8 amsteel before I try the...

    Wild edge users

Yeah I was planning on bringing the rappel line with me for the steps and see how I like that... though that sort of negates the weight savings of one over the other method. I think the biggest thing about the steps no matter which method: standard step, Cain, k/s is that you have to get the...

    New from SC

I don't know about Beaufort cooling down significantly by the end of September... I had a few days in December this past season that were in the high 70s but things do "cool off" normally by November... though I'm originally from Michigan so I have a different view of "cool"
