Even the video posted above, he says 5.5 lbs so I'm sure you are correct, by the time you have a usable stand, it'll be pushing 8lbsLWCG 5 lbs is probably more like 7.5. Light still but looks about the same size as the ambush....lol

I'd love to try those out one sticking! I kinda dig them. Wonder what msrp will be.Hard pass on the LWCG double step sticks. I am not a fan of those tree brackets.

They need to get someone taller than 5'5" to design their steps. 17-18" step spacing is awful. That's 1.5-2' less than 22" steps, so now you gotta carry an extra stick and barely make up that difference.
What you got in mind? I do a little machine work from time to time... I also have an idea for a folding stick bracket I'm hoping to mess with this summer.I just need a machinist
See you in a tree, Ricky
never trust someone with gauged ears....jk....I wonder how the cables feel under the boots, might not be too bad if the boots are thick enough.

Haven’t seen that. It looks quite a bit smaller than even the artisan outdoor one. Not for me, but I wear size 15 boots so...I like the looks of this new OOAL "Scout" platform with their Shikar step for one sticking..... anybody see this yet or have any preliminary thoughts????? https://outonalimbmfg.com/shikar-platform/

sikar sticks on best new product award for the ata show!
Yeah if that platform could rotate a bit "outward" at the angle of your lean once set up that would be perfect as you could still standoff to make shots around but just waiting your feet wouldn't be right on the hard edge.thoughts are my feet would be killing me, good concept though
I wonder if you could just attach a small platform to the top of that when you climb the tree, some DIY project I guess but for now i'll stick to my platform it works fine and I can spend $$$ on out of state tags insteadYeah if that platform could rotate a bit "outward" at the angle of your lean once set up that would be perfect as you could still standoff to make shots around but just waiting your feet wouldn't be right on the hard edge.
