Rounded up enough Saturday to get the grease hot. Mix of largemouth, Kentucky and white bass with a nice eatin size flathead to boot.

So I just recorded a podcast with some Alabama fly fishing guys and absolutely fell in love with the concept of fishing for redeye bass up above the fall line in the Mobile basin.
Count in seeing some of those guys from me this summer. They top out at about 12" and look like a black bass trying to be a lepomid.

Another mess of crappie for tacos. It topped out at 93 degrees today, I’ve renamed my aluminum boat “the solar oven.”

Four fish landed. Kept the 2 kings and returned both steelhead. 90 degrees at the dock but the water was 47 on top at fishing depth. It was heaven to get away from the heat and pollen for a few hours.

Here’s a smallie from the other day. We went for a family canoe kayak trip and I got to make a few cast. This thread has gotten me itching to get on the water. I’m 100% turkey hunting during the spring but I need to do more fishing.

Made some noodle jugs and pitched them out for kitty cats while I caught panfish this evening in an unsuspecting cove. Plenty of crappies but no catfish. Any tips on jugging out there?
Catalpa worms or sonny's dip bait. If those 2 baits wont catch 'em, there are no catfish in that hole.
