Is that a fact? Would love to see a link to that thread if you can dig it up.

DIY sub-1lb climbing stick adventure!

First time at the ATA? Sounds about normal… enjoy happy hour…lol
I’m not there. I’m not allowed to fly with the previous mentioned head injury.Just been looking all over for info. This year seems slow. But I did see Viper actually put out the bridge lock stabilizers a few weeks ago.

I'll be damned. Definitely some strong similarities in that final stick design. Which Tethrd likely ran with. I feel scummy now knowing this...

Guys it’s not a tree stand it’s a hybrid. You’re supposed to be facing the tree and utilizing side pressure not trying to be in a loc on in your saddle. Albeit it’s a bit, a slight bit of a paradigm shift . I’m thinking, I’m not sure though but the seat may be shaped to sit your knees against it not the tree. So your tether is longer you’re out away from the tree more to lean and or sit in your saddle and the platform is foldable in case you have to position like a regular tree stand for a shot.

It’s called the Raider Hybrid Treestand. It’s just a different slant on using a treestand and a saddle.

With a hybrid setup, you want it to be a treestand. And you want it to work in concert with a saddle.

There are no rules. It’s what works for the hunter. I’m picking a different tool, personally.

But, this idea has been pitched about here on saddlehunter.com. Platform + post + rut roost. They kind of got all that with the bonus of a mesh seat.

It’s just they put cables where I like to operate and I’m not going to lose that zone to earn a saddlehunting badge.

That "seat" is 10"x 8" x 4". 8" being the width. Knee rest probably more likely the intent. Guys complain about the size of the standard LWCG .5 seat. I don't think anyone will be sitting this stand. The whole design is horrible.

8” for a knee rest is narrow too.

gotta say I’m really impressed with the Trophyline release. Agree don’t love the attachment method looks like it’ll be a pain with Amsteel. It loosens/opens when you fold it like that. Something with a sheath like Arsenal used would probably work better. Still time before release. Stacking is cool but not important to me. I can’t imagine carrying a stack of sticks again regardless of weight.
If it was released today I totally would have ordered a stick and a stand.

Aiders will attach better but I don’t believe they’ll pack batter. Plus I just can’t get over the attachment method.

They stack inline. That’s a far better packing situation imo.

So VS. One Sticks you're gaining 1\4" step width, less than 1/4" step depth, losing 1 1/4" in between step height for about the same weight.
At a lower price point. Don't know the overall stacked height yet.

Don't know if it's compelling enough for anyone who already owns One Sticks. Not me anyway.

Well, there’s the no-recalls yet, little-no chance of the step wobble (or step detachment, yikes) thing.

They stack inline. They’ll work better with various aider options.

We’ll have to see how they bite and do with that connection point and their rope method. They could also be quieter out of the box (than ONE sticks), but time will tell.

If they are solid on the tree, I personally see significant upside over the Tethrd ONE sticks.

Appreciate your thoughts on the cable location, I almost tagged you to ask

It’s not a matter of “likely”. Sandor weighed in on it, after the fact, I think, saying it’s all good. Still, they could have called them Sandor Stix or something like that at least. Lol.

Ultimately the sorry thing is even with a pretty solid design, they can’t provide a consistent product because they went to China to cash in on it. Then there’s the covering tracks moments like when Ernie came on video to say the locking tabs were a consumable item. Those are the crumbs under the rug that get scummy.

Just came across this stand too. Very interesting idea and have been waiting for someone to come out with a product specifically for hybrid, like many of us have I’m sure. The tiny bucket seat is interesting. Reminds me of my kids little toy excavator for their sand box. This stand interests me most mainly just to see if any other companies are going to release a hybrid specific stand. Looking particularly at you OOAL :).

I don’t mean to discourage someone who it would/could/can work for. It’s just not a configuration that appeals to me for what I like in a platform.

Fun fact, maybe common knowledge I dunno, but Xpedition has a $1999 bow made out of magnite. I shoot 5 year old aluminum Xpeditions tho. Wonder if we’ll see increasing use of it, anybody know anything else made from it?

Edit: Magnite combines aluminum-magnesium alloy with ceramic nanoparticles and other rare earth elements to create a material that is stronger and more consistently manufactured than carbon while simultaneously being lighter than aluminum.

It’s a Magnesium Alloy. There are others like it, and many applications. Look into Super-Magnesium.
