Went check cameras back the house and the woods is pretty wide open with all the leaves that has fallen since the storms. Its time to make another squirrel hunt!
Missed this thread. I'm in again this year. I'll chase them more than twice this season, though. I won't win but should have a respectable showing...
I haven't been keeping count. Every shot is my personal competition. Thats good enough for me.
Finally took the double deuce for a hike this morning on the way to rifle camp. 2 for 2 on 40 and 50 yard aerial snipes. Man I love hunting these things.
One Nutter busted. Bonus Nutter. Just went to check my .22 today at lunch and after shooting 15-20 shots this guy bounds across a log. Needless to say, I took the opportunity to get the first nutter. Going out tomorrow morning looking to stack em 8 high.

@Nutterbuster how long does the contest last? Through March 8th? I got some serious nutters to bust now that deer season is over for me. Lots of Squirrel pins on the OnX.
Adding a big fox squirrel and a wet grey squirrel to the count from a few weeks ago (added another fox squirrel on the walk back to the house, too)!

Thanks, man. That spot is way cool. It's on my family's farm in Western KY that we've had in the family since somewhere around the 1840's. It's a couple hundred acres of farm land along the Mississippi River, as well as the adjacent big bluff. Right there is the edge of the woods/bottom of the bluff, and that water is floodwater from the Mighty Mississippi, which poured over its banks that day. I just eased along in the water in my rubber boots and walked up to 15 yards from that big fox squirrel--quietest I've ever moved through the woods in my life!
I grew up hunting the Ms river flood plain, but in Louisiana. Lol
Managed to take 5 for a boat ride yesterday. Would’ve had more if it wasn’t for the water getting above chest height in places. Felt more like duck hunting than squirrel hunting
Squirrel hunting has been slow the last few weeks. Never gone home empty handed but only getting one or two every time I go out. Rabbit huntings been good though
Busted these 3 out of the same tree while scouting last Saturday. Also jumped a buck in the same creek bottom
