Seriously would there be any interest in buying them if I put the tree brackets back and threw DanO's custom steps on them? It would cost me around $40 per stick to do it. I would need to buy lone wolf brackets for my steps or the muddy's depending on stacking.

I would want just the stick and cam cleats

^^^^^^^that’s a big negative! Folding steps are where it’s at!

Wrong! Folding steps WOULD be where its at if they weren't made by Muddy. Thats where they have the problems and have been breaking. Plus the design is heavy and bulky. Will take the fixed steps all day.

Good news in my Muddy Stick recall issue. My sticks were not part of the recall. The recalled sticks were made in 2012, you can tell the year of your sticks by the last 2 numbers of the batch number, mine was 9P-0115 hence they were made in 2015 and not a recalled item. Also, they said they have most of the recalled sticks back already oh and if the tree brackets turn then they may be the recalled sticks. Anyway just wanted to close the loop on this issue, they are busy but do get back to you eventually.

I use 3 muddy pros. Bottom with double aider, 2nd and 3rd with single aiders and I get over 20’. Probably around 23’

Awesome! That’s great news!

I had mine checked too and they weren’t part of the recall, even though 5 of the 6 I have don’t have the “two tabs”

Yeah, none of mine have the 2 tabs either or the yellow rope, but they confirmed from the batch number and it wasn't part of the recall, so two thumbs up!

Some of my steps are starting to get lose and move when I stand on them. Feels like the bolt is lossened up on the cleat or something. I will have go look on the numbers on mine.

I always have to tighten mine up. I just check them before the season and if I notice one when I climb I will tighten it up before the next hunt.
If you get them too tight they will try to bind together and not open good.

I have this year's version and this is my experience as well. I've found there is still some play in the stick as well even after tightening. I don't really notice it until I'm on my to step, setting my tether.
