Aero Hunter Shrike - Revised Linemans

It's hard to tell in the pic but, I can't imagine they would do that. My guess is the loop is part of the permanently attached portion of the belt and you can still remove the belt itself at the buckle.

They added a loop to one end of the webbing on the fixed webbing linemen belt. So if you don’t cut it you are going to have 8’ of webbing tag along with the rope tag of the rope you decide to use. Seems silly. Just offer a linemen loop attachment to use either the webbing linemen belt or your lineman belt. I sure don’t want both at the same time.

Like I said in another similar thread, it seems like they are focused on adding silly features that nobody really wants and nobody asked for... And the price keeps creeping up.

Bring back the simple cheap Kite with a rope bridge! o_O

To make sure I understand. I was told that the webbing belt was made to be replaceable and that you could remove the 8' webbing linesman's belt by simply detaching it at the buckle. So if you detach the 8' webbing belt at the buckle you also remove the LB loop on that side?

Caseys comment he said instead of having the tight eye for the carabiner sewn on the end of the webbing they changed that to a lineman loop to attach the carabiner. So you can use your own lineman’s belt.

So… you remove the webbing lineman belt you are also removing the lineman loop for that side and just left with the triglide buckle.

Well the new added lineman's loop is part of that webbing now so you wouldn't want to remove it completely. It is possible to do without cutting but the buckles are attached to the saddle and then you would have no loop on that side.
Is this verified? You absolutely cannot tell from the pic. It seems that it would be pretty damned stupid to have to cut off the integrated lineman's belt in order to remove it and still preserve the lineman's loop.

My inclination would be to remove the integrated belt and incinerate it.

I understand now. That's dumb.

Its a quick way to get the additional linemans loop on the saddles that are already produced and in stock. Id guess that's why they went this route

This is likely the reason why. I thought about it more after my initial post and realized that since the webbing belt can be detached you could cut the tail of one belt and still go back to the webbing belt later by simply swapping your cut webbing belt with an uncut one so, it's not as bad as my initial thought. I'll revise "it's dumb" to "it's less than ideal".

This is the solution I was presented with when I discussed my possible return. After further consideration I decided that this fix was an afterthought & not an acceptable solution. I’ve always been a fan of aero but as an early supporter of the current offering I don’t appreciate the response, to constructive criticism. I won’t take the bait & battle it out……. I’ll just vote with my wallet.

Yep… I gave them one more shot and that was a mistake. Won’t happen again.
