Aero kestrel bridge

Just get amsteel and do a locked Brummell around the bridge loop on one end and prussic/carabiner the other.

Locking the bridge to the loop with a girth hitch is bulky and it may well affect the operation of the adjuster strap on that side since it may not slide.
 
I used an 1/4 inch amsteel whoopie sling as a bridge this year. Adjustable, no girth hitch and no carabiner. It was light and worked well for me.

When using a webbing bridge and tether, what kind of attachment are you using? Do you find that it moves as freely as a rope bridge on a biner?

Overhand on a bight is the knot I use. It moves fine for me

Please note that I'm still experimenting. Webbing isn't as wear resistant as good rope. I look at it like a Havalon vs my old Case skinner. One will last practically forever and is dang-near indestructible. The other will need to be switched out regularly, but that's easily and cheaply done and the performance is hard to beat.

I ordered a predator rope tether from wesspur with a 5" spliced eye. It came in the mail this morning. I ran out and tried the girth hitch on the strong side bridge loop and prussic on the week. It's better than the original setup but just not exactly what I'm looking for. The rope is perfect for a tether though. I highly recommend it! Probably going to order another with a one inch eye for lineman rope. Just that nice. I'm now leaning towards a fixed amsteel bridge. Looks easy enough to splice. What size amsteel do you recomend?

Funny... I just watched your YouTube video last night on your saddle setup. What was in your drink? Lol

I'm confident now that a fixed bridge setup is the way to go. Keep it simple stupid! Leaning toward amsteel but willing to give the webbing a try. What size do you run and where are you purchasing it?

I'm going to get KISS tattoed on my forehead one day... probably after drinking one glass too many of Jack Daniels Single Barrel Rye. ;)

I use 1" tubular nylon. 18kn or 4,000lbs rating. You can get it anywhere that sells climbing equipment. The last roll I bought actually came from my local Bass Pro Shops.

If you use it, be very diligent about inspecting it for wear and tear. It's cheap enough that there is 0 reason to climb with anything in questionable condition. Mind your knots, and keep on mind that friction (like from a prussic) can melt it.

I haven't completely thrown out the spliced eye idea. I am going to order amsteel and a fid kit. However, the current predator bridge is my first experiment. The stock bridge comes crazy long so plenty to splice an eye over the bridge loops. I'll move onto amsteel and tubular nylon If I don't like the way it turns out. Will only be wasting time.

I definitely understand where you're coming from! But what I was actually referring to was the actual attachment from the web tether to the web bridge. In you video you had some kind of adjustable clip. I was wandering where that thing came from and how it is performing for you in your early stages of testing. I should have probably asked this in your thread. I apologize for getting off topic!

Whoops! My bad.

The buckle is an AustrialAlpin d-ring buckle. Be advised that it is rated for 18kn instead of the standard of I believe 23kn. But it is my understanding that it is a quality component intended to be used as life support.
 
I think the Amsteel I used was 5/16". I would have to go back thru my orders and find it to be sure.

I am planning to splice my bridge onto the bridge loops. Amsteel and webbing would both be easier but I prefer the look and feel of the predator rope.
 
Splicing double braid is not easy. Milking the bury is really tough because of the friction between the core and the outer sheath. I've done it for a hammock project and it's just not fun. Also be aware that the recommended (by Samson) bury length for predator is quite a bit. I'm not even sure you could splice and bury the recommended length on both ends of a 30" bridge. IDK.

Amsteel is really easy to splice for me. I can replace my bridge in about 30 min or less sipping on some Basil Hayden.

I agree 100% splicing both ends is just not doable. I'm thinking spliced eye on the strong side with an adjustable prussic knot on the week side. Thoughts?
