I have the kestrel as well. Would you say it’s worth the upgrade out of the two? Does walking in it hinder you in anyway? My new Cruzr XC arrived Friday and I tested it yesterday and compared it against my Kestrel that I've hunted from the past two seasons. I like the Kestrel but just wanted to upgrade. Here are my first impressions. For leaning, I'd score a tie...no noticeable difference in comfort. For walking around while wearing the saddle, the Kestrel is more comfortable. The larger, lower-hanging seat of the Cruzr XC makes it much more noticeable when walking...and yes, the pleats were closed. It wasn't a problem, but I was quite aware that I was wearing it. For everything else I'd give the advantage to the Cruzr. It is more comfortable to sit in because the pressure distribution has far greater adjustability. The mesh is noticeably cooler in warm weather. It is lighter and more packable than the Kestrel. I ordered the adjustable amsteel bridge and the prusik knots grip very tightly with no slippage. This step-through setup eliminated a carabiner from my previous setup which is great...one less metal object to potentially bang against something and make noise. The three buckles on the Cruzr are significantly smaller and quieter that the Kestrel's but still very quick, easy and secure. The construction of both saddles is rock solid and I see no reason for anyone to have safety concerns over build quality.
Thanks! If you’re more of a leaner, is it better to get the s version or does it make more sense to just go ahead and get the xc?Yes I would say it’s worth the upgrade ... so comfortable. If u do long sits it is definitely the way to go. What I found was less movement because it never feels like it’s riding up. It will be the Saddle for me this year.

I've got a Flex on order waiting on delivery. I know it's all personal preference, but anybody think it's worth ordering the XC just to compare side by side or are they similar enough to wait and see how the Flex performs? First year saddle hunter here so I've got very minimal experience.
And Mark, I really appreciate the videos. I've watched a lot of yours now and they're all very informative....thank you!

For anyone interested, I"m nearly certain the Cruzr buckles are this:

I googled 24 kn buckle and it was a top hit. The look is too similar and different than Cobra or Raptor.
I emailed Cruzr and asked them a week ago, but they haven't answered (probably think I'm trying to steal their trade secrets and start my own company!).
Is the Cruzr using a 24 kN buckle or a 12 kN buckle? For anyone interested, I"m nearly certain the Cruzr buckles are this:

CorrectBased off of similar buckles, it is likely 24 kN when the buckle is on a loop of webbing and being pulled (like a pants belt with 1 piece of webbing) versus when it is in a straight line with the buckle is in the middle (like joining two separate pieces of webbing).
In that case, the specific strength of the buckle is 12 kN, but when it is in a loop like a belt, the parallel piece of webbing takes half the force and so a total of 24 kN can be held. That's why the 24 kN is next to an oval while the 12 kN is next to a straight line.
24kn in belt config...12 kn in straight lineIs the Cruzr using a 24 kN buckle or a 12 kN buckle?
Thank u for the kind words... I will be doing a comparison of the flex and Cruzr but I have to wait for my replacement flex to get here... then I will complete it ..I've got a Flex on order waiting on delivery. I would agree with that or the other option see if anyone buy u has them both.. I just met Joe at a park and he tried out my Phantom, Flex and Cruzr..I would say buy both and compare them. Don’t take someone else’s word for it based on their comfort. Everyone is different. You will never know unless you try it yourself.

Is there been comparisons between the Cruzr and a Kite? (w/ the raptor buckles for the leg straps on the kite)
Thank u for the kind words.. I will do the comparison once I get my Flex back from Aerohunter ..Your video comparisons are accurate. I can’t wait to see a video comparison between the flex and Cruzr .
