Thank u .. I look forward to getting it backMark, just for a timetable, AH received my Flex on 3/30 and I received my replacement this past Monday 5/11.
You really have to hand it to New Tribes. They pay the shipping both ways to fix the problem and it is not a huge issue. Cosmetic.
Now my tethrd platform I have not sent it back yet because it has not broke yet and I have to pay the shipping at least one way. I may as well wait til it breaks and buy a back up

Why did you change for a raptor buckle? Did you think the Crüzr buckle was not up to par?I modded my Cruzr XC a little.
-DIY Utilibridge
-Changed out the leg buckles with Tethrd G-Hooks. I find them way easier to adjust in the tree.
-Changed out the buckle for a raptor buckle.
Its absolutely perfect now. Dropped 3.5-4oz on the scale.

I would rather have a buckle I trust on there. But I have no reason to think the buckle that comes on it was not up to par.
So for a guy who doesn’t mod his saddles, bought them strictly as a hunting tool, barely used a trophy line back in the day, used his mantis some (enough to kill some deer) and then bought a Phantom... I’m a missing out on a significant difference by not moving toward a Cruzr?
Yes; I’ve read most of this thread, just looking for your opinion for the novice user (but advanced hunter) who is all about using them as they came off the showroom floor. Thank you.

Are you comfortable in a phantom or mantis after hours of sitting? Do you sit or lean? Those two saddles are light and minimalistic. If you sit in a saddle and don’t mind a bit more weight and are not comfortable in your phantom and move a lot in a phantom. Get a Crüzr.

That’s interesting I’m 6’2”, 205 lbs with a 36 waist. I live in MN and spend most of the season in some sort of thick heavy bib. I messaged Cruzr and they recommended a size 2. That’s what i went with. I should be getting it sometime in the next two weeks, so I’ll let you know how that sizing works for me when it comes in. Hopefully it’s the right size for my situation!I got my Cruzr XC size 3 yesterday and climbed a tree and sat for over an hour. I set 90% of the time when hunting. I have a XL Mantis that I have used for 2 seasons. I could not set in it for more than 45 minutes without experiencing severe hip pinch which made me move a lot trying to reposition to relieve the pressure. I scared a lot of deer off with all that movement. I experienced zero hip pinch in the Cruzr XC. I got a JX3 before this last season started and used it mostly this season because the Mantis made it hard to hunt the 4 or 5 hours i normally hunt at a time. I really wanted a true tree saddle to use for a lot of locations I like to hunt and the JX3 is a little bulky if you just want to run and gun plus it is a lot harder for me to SRT or one stick with a JX3 versus a saddle. It is hard to make too much from just one hour in the Cruzr, but I was very pleased with how it felt. I had to slide the Mantis down considerably to be semi comfortable. I wore the Cruzr XC above my belt on my pants and with the pleat open, I had plenty of material under my rear and legs while setting and got some good lower back support from the Cruzr waist belt. I emailed Cruzr concerning the proper size for me being 5’8”, 195 pounds and 36” waist. I told them that I wear bibs when cold and I sit mostly. He suggested a size 3. He said the size difference adds 2” in circumference for each size and the length of the waist belt is about the same on a size 2 or 3. After reading all the responses concerning sizes on another thread, I was about convinced I should have ordered a size 2. When walking around with it on, I had no issues with the pleat trying to open and it did not feel too big. With bibs in the winter, I think the size 3 was the way to go for me. I did lean for about 15 minutes, and I had to close the pleat because the bottom strap was too low on the back of my legs to be comfortable. After that it was plenty comfortable for no more than I lean. If you lean most of the time, I agree with Ontariofarmer that a Mantis or Phantom might be a better fit. With my JX3 and Cruzr XC, I think I have all my bases covered for this next season.

Since there is only a 2” difference in circumference, I think the size difference is fairly subtle between 2 sizes. I did tell him I was a 36” to 38” waist, so that might be why he suggested the size 3. I was 230# this time last year with a 38“ waist so I want to make sure I don’t grow out of my saddle if my self control goes south. That’s interesting I’m 6’2”, 205 lbs with a 36 waist.
