Just curious, thinking about upgrading my cold winter clothes for next year. Anyone try them yet? Just seem like they are not getting that much talk despite John Eberhart help design them and they are targeted towards saddle hunters. I'm considering the Revenant jacket/pant for next year but these look intriguing.
 
I just got the hydrotherm bibs and saddlehunter jacket this year. I don't have a lot of hunts in them yet, but I'm happy so far. The legs in the bibs are a little tight. I originally got the large based on their chart, and I had to return them because they were way too tight. Even with the XL, I have to pull my pants leg down after putting the bibs on because they catch and get pulled up. It's not bad but I wouldn't want to hike with them on.
I like the high pockets on the jacket. I don't like the short collar on the jacket. Both the bibs and jacket are warm. I didn't buy the revenant because I already have cold weather gear. I wanted something to hunt down into the upper 20s/30s for this setup, which it does. It is quiet and really blocks the wind.

I didn't get the saddlehunter pants, just the jacket. I wanted bibs, not pants. My bibs don't have the built in knee pads.

John Eberhart Scentlok Suit

Anyone have the jacket yet? i like the price point and features (quiet, windproof, pocket in right places, knee pads). Don’t love the camo, but i have a mish mosh of handme down stuff, and feel motion is more important. I also assumes scentlok is NOT going to allow me to NOT play the wind...

Basically the arms were too short and the body fi the jacket fit weird to me, the proportions were off. The bibs were tight in the legs.
I recently got the hydrotherm v2 suit and it’s everything I wanted the saddlehunter suit to be. The bibs are lacking thigh pockets but I’m cool with that.

I bought the pants and jacket. Love them. After years of wearing wool, it was hard to step away from that. Even though my woolens “shrunk”. My layering process of undergarments always suited me even down to 1°F. Of course with different layering for different weather.

I have use the saddle hunter outfit so far in hunts this year with weather to 13°F with 12 mph wind (layering appropriately) and it was just as effective.

Really super comfortable. All the stuff that John goes through in his couple of videos about the amenities are spot on. Placement of pockets, zippers, length and height of collar on the jacket back, pant back, with different heights than on the front of the garments are all truly well thought out, and work effectively. I’m 6 foot, 240 and the 2xl is perfect and can handle layering or not layering quite well. You don’t want to be wearing this if the weather is above 40° F though.

I am super pleased with the products.
 
I have used the saddle hunter jacket and pants on every cold day. The jacket cuts wind and retains heat from my heated vest better than anything I have used. Jacket pockets are perfect and deep enough for hand warmers and an extra pair of gloves. Collar height is perfect and the overall fit was spot on.
The pants fit well, size was perfect. Pants are warm enough to not need a base layer. I may add a base layer if temps get below 10 degrees. The built in kneepads are worthless, they are little not than a wear protection pad for the knees, no real cushion. The legs are snug, but I think that helps retain heat.
These are definitely my go to winter outer layer.
 
I hunted with the pants and jacket today. I’m very happy with the suit! It was around 40 degrees today with a little rain mist. I wore a scentlok base layer and pants to the stand. Once in the tree I waiting till I was cold and put on the jacket. I was so warm the entire hunt. The pant pockets are literally going to replace my hand muff. They are perfect. I hunted from noon till around 545pm. The pockets are in the right place. I’m very happy with scentlok stuff and will be buying more soon. I was able to get the suit for $224 total with discounts. What a deal. I’m 5’9” 210 pounds. I order the XL jacket and L pants. The arms are perfect length. Warmest jacket/pants I’ve ever owned. The knee pads are not great so I would suggest having knee pads. I did use them for a while but when I needed to nap I put my knee pros on.
 
I kinda regret not hopping on the sale sooner, last night I finally broke down and picked up the wind fleece jacket and pants and some accessories since my saddle hunter sizes are no longer available. Might not be the Cadillac of outerwear but these sales can keep somebody warm and comfortable through the season at a great bang for the buck, who knows maybe we even stink quite a bit less.
 
Just got my set a few days ago. Got in on the sale for $79 each for the pants and jacket as a Christmas present for myself. I'm 5-9, about 210lbs. I got the XL in both. The jacket and pants seems to be a bit tight, but with what I'm reading here, that doesn't seem to be a problem and I may modify the pants to create a "bib" type of addition in the back so my back doesn't get exposed to wind. The deer season ended here in MN before I actually had a chance to use them. I may try them in a coyote hunt this winter to see how warm they are on a cold Jan morning in MN.
