Ar build

Everybody's different....I like iron sights
I like em too. And I have a truck gun set up with nothing but irons. They’re tough as nails and always work. I just don’t see them as a great back up option if you would have to remove the scope or red dot to be able to see them. Irons on a 45 degree mount make a lot more sense.

I went to pick up the lower today but the background check was taking to long...I picked up 45 degree flip up... he called right as I got home and the check went thru....I go pick up at lunch break tomorrow

Most folks (me included) have their back up irons set up to co-witness through their red dot so no need to remove if the optic fails. Also helps to ensure the zero hasn't changed on the red dot just by flipping up the back up sights. This is how I have my 11.5" "pistol" build set up.

Now if you have a scoped rifle, offset irons or even a reflex ight on an offset makes sense.

Sweet looking rig. Looks like you have the M-Lok handguard. I love that system. You can get anything to attach to it. I recommend the UTG "push" button sling mount for the front (M-Lok) and Daniel Defense front handle post M-lok. Great handle for "patrolling." Just allows you an alternative hold and carry option and is super light. Where you have that zip tie looks like the button for the rear sling would fit there. Have fun!!

No not really, just "built"/assembled a couple along the way a couple or so years ago. NY sucks though due to the "Assault Rifle" ban but more suppliers are accommodating buyers who live in states with all the ridi restrictions.

Are u now my ar bff?

Do u hunt with yours?
I can be your AR BFF.. ;) I was waiting to see how you like your 350 legend set up before I picked one up. I just got the 5.56 on it for now. But would like to get a 350 legend to hunt with for the fall.
But I do have one condition. Don't tell @Red Beard. He might get jealous.

Not sure if you have a reason for it or not but your sights are on backwards btw. Also, moving the sights to the farthest slot on the rail helps with accuracy
Are they? I was trying to figure out if it mattered or not. That was the best I could figure how they went from pictures I can find. I haven't got to shoot it yet. Been cold and snowy since I put it together. I'll flip them if they are suppose to face the other way.

He's correct. In all reality I'm not sure which difference it makes, however the correct manner is for the bases to be the further point forward. While mine are folded this is the "typical" way they are mounted.

Concerning the back up iron conversation. One can go either way. For a range or hunting rifle IMO they serve no purpose. For a rifle that you are theoretically going to rely on as a SHTF rifle then they make plenty of sense. With that being said the red dots and LPVO of today are a vast improvement over what was on the market 15-20 years ago. There is an argument to be made that they are no longer necessary due to the durability of modern optics. All that being said any defensive rifle that I have will be equipper with back up sights. For a red dot rifle that would be flip up irons and if I ever get an LPVO it would be a dot mounted in a 45 degree mount.
