Amsteel mod is the solution my friend. Got so sick of always landing in between loops on the versa strap. was never tight
Care to share the details of your Amsteel mod? I could never get my Amsteel version as tight as the stock strap.Amsteel mod is the solution my friend. Got so sick of always landing in between loops on the versa strap. was never tight
Stick? The thread is about a platform. I had no issues with stability of sticks with an Amsteel mod but it was a different story with the Predator. The Amsteel was not as stable as with a cam buckle.sure man. spliced the loop. wrap around the tree from your left, around the tree and to your right.. bring it across the front of the stick, under the left side of the amsteel and cinch behind the button. cinch this TIGHT. then wrap twice around the button. 2 half hitches. and set the stick. wont move an inch
Different forces on the platform than the sticks. Apples and oranges.Same process exactly
This^^When you side load the platform or moving around ontop it needs to be tight or it can move. Sticks are different you are just going straight up on them.
Waaay better for some reasonI use a LW strap on my predator works better than the stock strap!
I did this when I had a predator and it worked quite well with a daisy chain. I also made my daisy loops just big enough for the predator button, I think 1.5” if I remember right and it allowed for better fitting. Never had an issue and like Amsteel better than cam straps. Shooter preference.I used Amsteel daisy chain on my Predator last season. Wrap the Amsteel around the tree, turn the Predator 90 degrees, attach using the closest loop and turn Predator upright. Push down on the post then cam down the Platform. Turning the platform before attaching usually allows you to get an extra loop.
It’s not as tight as the buckle, but I like that it’s quieter and less bulky (weight is negligible).
