Why did you considered the Pintler? Im actually thinking about getting that bag too depending on how well all my cold weather gear fit into the 28.
because you almost convinced me I needed it.

Hmmm, if the coyote brown is all that is available in my size it is still worth it?it doesn’t. How much stuff you take with you?
but seriously, since there’s not any good pics of the couple pockets it does have I thought I’d take a few for people considering it. There’s is the main bag, two water bottle pockets, a pocket in the lid and one in the front (last two shown in pics)

The Pintler is a nice bag. Love the 3 way zipper. The only complaints I had were, it wasn’t on a pop up frame and although it did have a meat shelf it wasn’t easily accessible. Also the lid opens back towards the frame and has pockets. So if you store items in the lid it continuously closes on you. If the lid opened like the treehouse and it was on a pop up frame it would be damn near perfect.because you almost convinced me I needed it.

From their sizing I didn’t figure I needed a XL. I thought what I read was the same torso for L and XL and the only difference is the waist. I’m 34-36 so thought L would be plenty. You can order the XL and replace the belt for $35. Or replace it with a Kifaru belt for $105 (see my recent post). Also, my dad spoke to MR right after he ordered the XL because he was afraid it was going to be too big and they told him they would have recommended that he order the womens version in a medium. Apparently, there’s only a small difference in the harness but I would confirm that with them before going that route.

I have the venture 2300 and used eberlstock m1 mainframe that I haven’t figured out a good way to use. I love the venture for what it is but I’m not sure how it’ll handle a deboned deer. That why I was kind of looking at the pop up as a mix If the two.
what’s this talk about a $350 bag with a crummy waist belt? Why does it need replaced?
I put my sticks horizontally in the meat shelf and then platform above and closed the pack over top and cinched it right. My biggest gripe with the PU right now is trying to figure out how to haul my platform and sticks
That’s how I have it now. Was trying to get away from horizontal sticks but I don’t see any other way as of now. Vertical on the sides maybe but then can’t access side pouchI put my sticks horizontally in the meat shelf and then platform above and closed the pack over top and cinched it right.

I always carried mine vertical in the load shelf, then strapped the platform to the outside of the bag.
Your bottom buckle goes through the water bottle pocket too, did you DIY that?here’s a pic of the sticks https://saddlehunter.com/community/...dle-hunting-backpack-thread.22868/post-553839
I'm gonna need a Mod to close this. These enablers are already making me buy upgrades to an item that is still with Fedex and l have not even taken to the wood yet. People like this are the one that created reverse mortgages.Correct, the difference between the large and the extra large is only the belt. You can replace the belt with a large belt for $35. I wouldn’t say it has a crummy waist belt. But it is a $350 pack that does not have a waist belt that compares to a $1000 Kifaru pack.

Pictures?Got the PU28. So far im actually very happy. Its about the perfect size for me. My winter coat and bib barely fit in the main compartment. But that's all l really want put in there. Also the top and size pockets are actually bigger then expected. The color was darker too compared to what you see on photos and videos, which suit me. And its comfortable. More testing is needed obviously but I'm happy with it!
