I am having trouble staying warm when it's cold, maybe my age. I have a old pair of Cabelas stand hunter that works for me. But they are heavy. My Sitka Fanatic is not doing it.
Looking at the First Lite Sanctuary coat and bibs.
Anyone with experience with the Sanctuary or any others brands I should consider?

I’m the same way, run cold. Sitka and first lite were no good for me. I switched to full wool for this season. Smart wool thermals, king of the mountain bibs, filson vest, and weatherwool anorak. I’ll see if it’s better.

It's freakin like 85 here today and supposed to be right at 90 tomorrow. Y'all talkin about being cold this early just seems off. LOL

It was snowing today…

I second the heated vest right over base layer. Add a cheap down vest for a mid layer.

Do you have any recommendations on a heated vest?
I have a Scentlok that I love. Primaloft and with the power cell it lasts like 8 hours on high. It’s spendy tho but they have a mil discount you qualify. I’ve read there’s a couple good ones on Amazon, and some guys on AT like the Milwaukee one.

Thanks. I looked at the Scentlok one. Can't figure out the military discount. What is the discount?
How long does it take to charge ?
Does it charge on 12v from your truck or do you need 120v?

Its 30% and you get it through expert voice.
The length of charge depends entirely on the size of power cell you use. You don’t have to use the Scentlok one. The Scentlok one charges just like any other power cell via usb c port. Mine takes about 3 hours from dead.

Thanks, just ordered one with the biggest power cell they had.
When I get the big one (12 pointer) I will have you to thank!!!

I looked at the Ororo vest last year and decided against it. Not bashing it, but I chose the Scentlok for the following reasons in case anyone else is looking at them.
1. The Ororo has a 4800mAH battery and the vest will run 3 hours on high. That is 1600 mAH. The Scentlok uses 2100 mAH per hour on high, that is 30% more heat output. Yes the battery is optional but with the 20,000 mAH battery it will run on high for 9.5 hours.
2. The Scentlok battery uses the same charger as my cell phone. I can charge it in my truck or at camp with no issues using the wrong charger.
3. The Scentlok has 120gr of Primaloft insulation. That is twice as much as my Primaloft LL Bean vest. So if something broke, I still have a functional warm vest.
I do not currently have any Scentlok stuff and the scent control in my opinion has no values.

Edit: Must have been short on coffee this morning. I did not factor in the voltage difference of the two system.
The Ororo pulls 1.6 amps at 7v for 11.84 watts.
The Scentlok pulls 2.1 amps at 5 volts for 10.5 watts.
So the Ororo putts out about 12% more heat.
