Community Saddle (Where's Sally?)

It’s been rainy today, It should be clear in the morning & I’ll check her out & then pass along.....

Sally & I hung out & had a cup of coffee then I dropped her off at the post office. She had a tight schedule & had to run. I’ll post some pics & a review later. Btw it’s sweet!!!! If weather would’ve cooperated I would’ve had the first sally doe kill last night, but I didn’t want to get it all wet & not be able to mail it. I used my kite instead, sorry boys.

Sweet! Sorry she had to go so soon! To bad she didnt get some blood on her.

Yeah me too! I had a plan to backup the bridge with
an extra LB, (sorry not ready be a 25’ test dummy on this amsteel adj. bridge just yet)
Did you put some of your good luck on her before you sent her out?

Sally made it to Good Hope, Alabama and is on my butt as we speak.

Overall I’m really diggin the design. I haven’t sat in any light weight saddles so to feel a extra lightweight one is pretty neat. It really makes a different not having more weight while climbing. The comfort is there for a light weight saddle I think. I didn’t think the larger lineman’s loops would be that big of a deal but I just climbed around some limbs and I’m digging them. The comfort channels on the bridge are alright. They do transfer the weight from your but to your waist pretty well; however, they struggle to stay in place with a high tether. I think they are trying to reinvent the wheel here, as I feel the pull straps on the Kestrel are more efficient and can be done with one hand and hanging. As for the adjustable bridge, very cool! It gets rid of a lot of bulk and just looks neat. I don’t think it’s a game changer but definetly something I wouldn’t mind having on my Kestrel. All and all without having a full hunt in her and only ever have sat in 5 saddles I’d give my man @always89y a round of applause on an incredible hand made piece of saddle glory. I know a lot of the designs came from the phantom so I wanted to share my thoughts on them individually. Thank you so much for the opportunity to rock this saddle for a test run.

That said, I tried to get in line for a hunt but we have rain coming in the next 2-3 days so I wouldn’t be able to hunt out of it until Friday. Let me know if you care if I keep it till then or if you’d like me to ship it to the next lucky guy tomorrow.

I'll let the next guy in line decide, but I'm fine with her staying in your hands until the weekend. I'd love to see some blood mojo on her!
Awesome review. I agree about the bridge adjustments.

Ok finally got a sec to look through these pics & gather my thoughts. Overall execution of a clone saddle based on detective work excellent!!!! I can’t compare this to the phantom b/c that wouldn’t be accurate. I did like this way more than the mantis, it wanted to stay in place & not ride up. I don’t really think I would opt for the adjustable bridge loops, feels like it wants to pop off. I’d rather find natural center......just me but I could feel the difference b/w high /low placement. I did really like the bridge it’s an improvement over the stock mantis bridge. Liked the shape of the saddle, good cup. Not a fan of ultra light saddle design, don’t care for the mesh material very similar to the mantis which was one of my knocks on it ( feels really floppy, I know that’s intentional. I like more structure like a kite or new TL. Ambush material. All in all great build just too minimal for me.... btw I’m 6’6” 297 oh btw almost ran out of belt....
