Community Saddle (Where's Sally?)

@Razorbak66 and @Weldabeast turns out @Treehopper2 is in the next county over to me. I'll pass Sally to him and @Razorbak66 will be next in the chute probably get there quicker than more time in the mail.

I did a quick sit on the porch today and I'm impressed with @always89y 's handiwork. I was a bit sceptical about the comfort channels, but wow. You can totally change the pressure from the top to bottom.

I got “sally” today from @smcchevy we aren’t far apart here in Kentucky and I tried it out at my local WMA.
I really like a mantis and I think this design fixes the couple issues I had with it.
For me the cup design, adjustable bridge and better linemen loops are really nice features and I don’t feel you can modify a mantis to get this level of comfort.
With the mantis I ran a low tether with stock bridge and that worked great for me but I think with this design I can run my tether a little higher and custom fit the bridge length as I wish for that hunt.
As for the comfort settings they do work to change the feel but I’m not totally sure the balls in the bridge loops is the best way to do this.
I wonder if there is another way to hitch the bridge to lock itself into position. But with that said this design does work.
Over all great saddle and it confirms my next saddle purchase.
Thanks for the chance to try it out and great work with the build @always89y.
I will get it packed up and headed to @Razorbak66 .

@always89y my thoughts:

Awesome cuppage more comfortable than my mantis
Your comfort channels work really well
An adjustable bridge is a must for me and amsteel one is even better
Waist belt material is just soft and stiff enough
I would buy one in a heartbeat
I'm 5'6" and about 195 apologize for everyone's eyes Screenshot_20200217-194335.jpg

Shout out to @Treehopper2 for meeting up and all the info. I think a local off season meet and greet would be cool.

More evidence that the folks on this forum are pretty awesome!

Treehopper sent it the other day..should be here today when I get home tonight..looking forward to trying it out.. a BIG THANK YOU TO @always89y for allowing alot of different butts to hang out in his work of ART!!

Well it shown up thursday but to wrong house so i got it friday..opened it this morning..nice so far gonna do a big sit in tommorow when a friend shows up..more findings to come

Well its gonna be quite a long several posts..first off a big THANK YOU to @ always89y for making sally and allowing alot of us guys out there to sit in her. The craftsmanship is outstanding as I figure he only had snippits of pictures to go by to make her up..first glance and feel you think tethered made her..top notch work sir!!!
I got her friday due to mailman issue instead of thursday, but didnt get to open box until sat. Morning..man its nice..got a quick sit for 10 minutes before i had to head out for funeral..i noticed that the cupping definitly cups but i think if it was about 1 1/2" wider all around it would be more comfortable for guys who have meatier butts and thighs. I got with my buddy today (sunday) for a sit in session. I brought my trophyline ambush and mantis and of course sally..he brought his new to him kestrel wanna be he got from a fella and that was extremly sweet..we set up about 5ft off the ground on 2 different trees to simulate hunting..i got my first real sit with sally and im not completly 100% sold on the comfort channels yet..i had a hard time keeping it the grooves that i wanted until i constricted the gap with some paracord to keep it from moving when i gave the bridge some slack.....
MORE TO COME......

That makes since. After seeing more pictures of the Phantom, I'm pretty sure they centered the adjustments on the bridge loops (equal distance from top of saddle to bottom). I offset, putting the balls closer to the top (4 inches from top of beidge and 6 from bottom).

I feel if their was a constriction band like a hvy. Rubber band around the amsteel to lock it in it would less apt to slide but either way it works..my friend likes it alot as well as i do..very comfortable to maneuver to simulate bow shots..quick to get in and out..im finding i like my bridge further out with my tether about 1ft above my head..couldnt really sit that well for ME as i didnt nail that setting quite yet plus im finding i might be more of a leaner not sure yet as i still am quite new to saddle hunting..i compared it alot to my mantis and im finding the phantom copy is a little better all around..not saying you cant hunt out of the mantis because you can especially if you change out the bridge which i did with the triad amsteel mod which works i feel 10x better...more to come with pics
Sally is headed out to onstringer today to get a whirl

Great thread and a great way for people to see what they like, I didn’t put my name down as I have done my own so better others get the chance to use her, what I will say is I found the shape great, there was nothing wrong with the kestrel clone it is very comfy but I found the phantom clone just has the edge, I also find the comfort channels are not really needed, for my personal hang mid way for me is perfect I really do like the adjustable bridge though, I thought at first knowing how I like to hang it wouldn’t be adjusted but I am wrong on that score it is a really good addition to the saddle. Good luck guys I hope someone can get first blood with her, regards Wayne
