Daisy chain as gear hanger

View attachment 16894
Like you all I have found the climbing daisy chain to be useful. It’s a little short at 48” but I don’t hunt huge trees and can “daisy chain” two together around bigger trunks. I have also found that it works as:
Moveable aider
Backup tether (not primary life support per se, just tying from my bridge loop to my rope or carabiner for a little experiment)
Back rest
Stick carrying strap
Haven’t tested this one yet, but hopefully I’ll get to try it as a deer drag :smilingimp:.
I have the same strap and found the loops to be a little too big, regular carabiner or S-beaner wants to to pass through the loop rather that staying hitched around the tree. Its fine if you keep that backpack hung on it with some weight, but I wouldn't buy the same one again.

Clip the biner through both ends/loops in the girth-hitch. Works like a dream for me.

You got electricity up in that tree?
You know, I had the same thought as you. I could install a platform for the coffee pot. :grinning:
Finally, some humor on this site. Thanks for joking. Many people on SH are so serious you can't make a joke.

In all seriousness - there are things discussed here that should be taken extremely seriously (safety, in particular making informed decisions about safety rather than dangerous assumptions) and are by most members - but outside of that joke away!

After I shot my doe I realized I needed a way to mark the nearest tree in case I got crossed up and couldn't find the spot where it was shot. It was thick brush with about 10 foot visibility. The bright red daisy chain was perfect for this. It kept sliding down the tree until I remembered I had a bungee cord to hold my electric push pole pieces together. I used that to hold the daisy chain up as shown in the picture I posted a few posts back. I think a permanent gear hanging system might have a bungee cord to hold it tight.

Agree. If I have an additional safety device on my tether, I leave it. It's not hurting anyone where it is. My motto is, " you can't too many safety backups". I usually leave my backup tether in place along with my climbing rope (main tether). It just doesn't get in the way of anything I have found and gives me a good feeling to know multiple ropes must break at once for me to fall.
