I get the argument, but what about the season dates and bag limits. Should it be OK for a private landowner to decide when the season starts on their own property and decide if they want to kill 3 or 103 deer this season? My feeling is that if the state is going to have game laws, the laws need to apply equally to all hunters regardless of whether they own land or not. Otherwise, you create a different class of citizen.
No I get it bro I do there has to be limits but, note from what i was told and what I experienced in an actual deer club that issued us crop damage tags.
They charged members 1800 a year to hunt their properties and kill as many does as we want but bucks were killed with bag limits.
with that said Delaware and several other states on the east coast supply crop damage tags to farmers which I highly disagree with.
I was a member of this club for 1 year but hunted there very minimally. I was not aware of these crop tags until i joined the club. I expressed my ill will towards this but was shunned away.
(Note please)
I love farmers they are some of the nicest and hard working people in the world but, I do not agree on crop damage tags.
I do not agree with this and the reason why is farmers eligible for crop damage tags should be allowing hunters to come in and hunt just like public land and have zero liability to any harm or anything that happens to the hunter. Farmers should Not be able to just shoot countless deer on their properties.and like most do leave them lay there for the yotes.
There needs to be something in place lol.
With that said crop damage tags are very very misused and I have been on farms in the Delmarva area where the farmers are just shooting the deer and leaving them lay to rot. it is super easy to get farm crop damage tags and most of them take advantage of them.
using crop damage tags I do believe you can hunt from mid august till mid February on crop damage tags, (Doe kills only)
last I heard if you run out just call or email and more will be given to you
I get it that farmers are losing big money from deer but there needs to be a program enacted so people can have access to properties like this all while helping the farmers and with a worry free mind.
Both public land and private need to have laws and limits in place but the ones setting these laws should have some background or experience in whatever they are trying to enact laws upon. How can I regulate a law or enact something that I have zero clue on how it works or what its purpose is lmao.
My end point is the crop damage program is just another law or enactment program which is ridiculous along with several mother ones in effect.
do you know in Delaware a youth can get a hunting license at I think 10 or 12 but, he or she can not carry a firearm while hunting until they are 18
they can not purchase ammo till they are 21 yet we can send them somewhere to kill other humans in a war at 18
lmao really?
