Yes, I use a stepped shim made of aluminum.
Did you machine that yourself? I made a stepped shim made of wood. It lasted a full season but its pretty beat. I was going to try hickory since its harder but alum sounds intrigueing.
Much appreciatedI took 3/16” aluminum sheet cut into small squares and welded them together creating 3 steps. It gives me 4 rough adjusments that is good enough for the guy using it.
To me it looks like your versa button is to high on post. Try lowering it a few inches. Also try a buckle strap, just to see if it changes anything. Your amsteel may still have some stretch in it.
