@Plebe this was yesterday morning going in to check some persimmons. This the access trail into a food plot on a WMA I hunt a lot. Holding the camera about mid chest high.

This was in the woods. About knee high and this particular patch was about 400 yard to get through and went as far as I could see to my left and right. Not exactly sure what this is but the INaturalist app said poison ivy/oak family. Saw 4 snakes but only 3 were cottonmouths.

i'm not good with IDing poison oak or sumac because it is a lot more rare around here.....can spot poison ivy from 50 yards though

Not sure how many acres of it I walked through over the weekend but it was a lot. Sure happy I dont react to it.

Looking for your thoughts on early season bottoms. I'm in West Michigan, about halfway up the lower peninsula. Deer starts 10-1 so It's usually pretty warm still. Looking at those ( now back in stock) uninsulated Bibs from Natural Gear.

Are bibs good or bad in warmer weather? Anyone tried those? I'm a pants guy but it was pointed out to me that in cold weather bibs are where it's at too keep your low back warm, not sure if I'd cook early season on not
Michigan Hunter here too, in the thumb. There's no way I'd wear any bibs before the cold really sets in, no matter how lightweight. October is usually too warm and I wear a really lightweight and breathable shirt and pants. I might bring a hoody if its breezy and only put it on once I've been hanging for a while. The front and back of bibs on top of the shirt I'm already wearing...that's too hot for walking around in while carrying a backpack or climbing a tree.

In the winter, they're awesome!

Edit: I'm also 6'3" and 310 lbs, so I run pretty hot most of the time anyway.
