In my opinion, and for me, that is the case. Here are the 2 saddle I am comparing.
I believe the mesh and shape provide enough cupping. The pleat adds to much.
@always89y Nice looking saddle you built. That platform you built on the climbing stick in the left corner of the pics looks really good. If you get time, a separate thread on that would be very interesting. So, I decided to try the whole "flex" concept with the football shaped saddle. Turned out good, but I have to say, I dont think anything is gained over the original design. When flexed, it does change the dynamics of the adjustable bridge loops as well. I think its the angle the bottom webbing that makes the difference. The regular football shape does a fine job of cupping when in the sitting position, so the added material of the pleat is kind of lost. If your a long time sitter, then it might be good for you.
Thanks! See this thread:@always89y Nice looking saddle you built. That platform you built on the climbing stick in the left corner of the pics looks really good. If you get time, a separate thread on that would be very interesting.
A lot easier than you think. The sewing machine does the work. Just a matter of collecting the material and stacking it up to sew!Man im so impressed..wish i could do that
Callipygian !!!!Heres a video of the zipper saddle in action. Scuse the fat guy...hes my model. Its not me.
That word stuck!Callipygian !!!!
The sound alone draws concern! I had to turn away as well, just in case!I don't know, maybe I've developed a flinch reflex from @Blinginpse but everytime you unzipped that saddle I had to avert my gaze . . .
Seriously though, that looks pretty cool. A truely wearable flex . . Nice job again @always89y !
I hope so! Ive certianly gained from some of their ideas.I give it 6 months before a manufacturer steals the zipper idea. That's slick.
Shhhhh, it's supposed to be a seekrit!I give it 6 months before a manufacturer steals the zipper idea. That's slick.
