Gen 3 One Sticks....

So are all you guys running the half hitch at the end?

I’m not. I just wrap the tail back around storage button at the bottom and the attachment button like I would when taking it off the tree.

Yes I do the same and have shockcord thru the end of the rope to hold it secure.

I have been playing with this aider with them. I like it. The multistep ons were to sketchy for my liking.

Ever considered using two of these? One going to each step to get two steps out of them?

I’ve considering getting rid of my cable aiders and using two versa aiders.

Have you been hitting the pipe?

Well I don’t use the versa button, I use the step on my sticks. I’d use one to go to each step, one on each step. Idk I just smoked a cigar maybe there was something else in it lol

I heard of people doing that with custom gear compacts. But I think they are crazy

What makes u think that? Is it the double versa aiders you don’t like or using a versa aider on a step u don’t like?

i think they make a version with 2 steps built in....you might be able to custom order number of steps and maybe spacing

He wants to keep the aiders on his feet as he climbs.

Random question has anyone dropped a One stick from high up or had any hard impact? Just wondering how they they held up, seems like they would dent very easily.

I would assume the weight of a one stick would not be enough to cause significant damage if dropped. I would think it would bounce off the forest floor and be fine. Maybe if you dropped it on pavement from 20+ feet but not in the woods.

Put the Genesis stacking clips on my sticks today. They make it a lot easier to put together and take apart…they weigh 1oz per clip.

I finally decided to try these clips. I can see how they would be a little easier to stack but coming apart they are a pain! How do you get them off a stack on your hip???

They’re a tight fit at first when taking apart, but the more they get worked, the easier they come apart. The stealth strips make it fit tighter I guess. Once the stealth strips “thins out” at the clip spot, it comes off much easier.

I still can’t pull one off while their hanging from the saddle. I started hanging the sticks by the marsupial gear bow hanger, connected to my saddle. The edge of the step fits perfectly in the slot and no worries of them coming off. I can hang 3 sticks on a clip. Lift them off, pull a stick off, then put the the remaining back on the clip. Works way better than a gear tie.

Haven’t tried the 3D version, but the non 3D version works well.

They are tight to work with both sticks that are stealth-stripped and aren't. Over time like @Rutman said they will be a lot easier to unclip. Just takes a little bit to get them worked in, but once they are they should be good to go.
