Rock climbing harnesses have various standards that they quote. I'd love to see a saddle that could pass that certification. I'd think it would involve more than a pull test.

I just wonder if/how they are going to sell in stores without any kind of safety certification? Stands have to be TMA certified to be sold and there isn’t a standard on saddles yet.

Wouldn’t think it would be too hard to incorporate some of the ASTM’s for rock climbing & arborist saddles..Or create a new ASTM..

I was wondering the same thing? I thought I had heard somewhere that there was a "summit" of sorts between some saddle manufacturers & TMA? Perhaps an industry insider (ahem, cough cough) has a little more info or is aware if such a meeting occurred?

Tethrd was in that meeting and is a part of the committee developing the spec for saddles (as well as a couple others), as far as I know there were no “big name” treestand reps there. It’s for sure in the works but it takes a good bit of time to do.

I dont get it. PA season starts September. Why do manufacturers wait so long. Last thing im doing in September is learning a new saddle set up.

I'm guessing that several months worth of forced shutdowns due to a pandemic isn't conducive to launching a product in a timely manner.

They don’t care. They know we’ll buy it anyway.
Problem here is it’s 95+ degrees until mid Oct. so I’ll need an extra just to practice with.

Resurrecting an old thread but has anyone heard any more information on this? I’ve had their sticks since day one so I’m really interested in what they are putting out

I am just as, if not more comfortable in sewn goods from other places outside of US. You can argue the pros and cons of american products for sure, but you can get quality overseas, and you can get mass production quality overseas way cheaper than you can get the same quality product here.

It could be complete junk, but it won't be because it wasn't made here. My guess is someone's gonna die trying to climb a 14 step aider using kite string for a tether tied in on their ankle before they die from the stitches in one of these coming apart...
